Isn't this Cavs team way more talented than the team LBJ took to the championship? If they get Love or if Wiggins develps, I could see multiple banners hanging from the rafters. Spurs and Pop are great, but you can't fight father time. I could see 3 banners in the next six years.
If Spurs add Pau would you say this?
Adding Pau doesn't stop father time.

That said, no way I count out the Spurs. LeBron/Love/Irving/Waiters and filler isn't going to slow down the Spurs offense one bit.

am i alone in still wanting the cavs not to win?

i mean, this was a classy move by 'bron. I give him props, i would not have been able to pass the chance to shove that letter in Gilbert's face and make him eat it. so good job Lebron

but man, i never want Cleveland to win anything.

Get Love on board as well, and this is an incredibly fun team to watch. I never forgave the Cavs when they traded Ron Harper (for Danny Ferry for #### sake  ), but maybe 25 years is enough.

Unless, LBJ blows out his knee 3rd game of the season.

I would never discount Pop's ability to win and get the most from his players. It just seems only human to have to reload at some point in time. That freaking team has been ballin since the late 90's.

Don't tell their 22 year old NBA Finals MVP that.

What percent is Todem up to?
100% Heat fan. That is the only definite.

So....I read the essay. Really touching. I can't blame him at all for wanting to "go home" if it is that important to him. So good for him. I am glad. If that makes him feel whole as a human being I can't fault the guy for wanting to do what his heart tells him.

We (Heat fans) got 4 years of the best basketball we may ever see in our lives. Be thankful and wish Lebron well.

Ok now it's time to see what our team can do going forward as we are yesterdays news now.
It'd be a lot more fun for the rest of us if you were being a d-bag instead of annoyingly classy right now.

If I was Cleveland, i would trade Waiters, Thompson, any other "prospect", and all 4 of the 1st round picks they have in the next couple years if i had to, to get Love. Find a way to keep Wiggins. Have Irving, Wiggins, Lebron, Love and Andy as a starting 5....championship. Bring back Big Z as a "role player"
What if Minny says no?
Well Minny doesn't have as much bargaining as they probably think. Boston might be crazy enough to do a deal without an extension but Love can always just opt out and go to Cleveland as a FA. I think Wiggins is a fair and likely trade but I also don't think the other teams have a piece nearly as valuable as Wiggins. Add in that Love can force their hand and Minny would be smart to avoid a Melo situation as much as possible.

MIN doesn't have to deal him.

And then they lose him after the year for nothing. Genius move.

Wade opted out of 2 years 41 million that was left on his deal. What is Miami going to do with him now?

On the open market Wade would not get half of that amount at his age with bad knees. Right now Wade is a 7-8 million dollar role type player.

$41.8MM down the tubes for Dwayne Wade.
I suspect he'll still be able to find work.
Not for $41.8 MM, not in two years.
He'll probably make more money now that the Heat don't have any salary cap problems.
I'll take action on that if you want it. He's not a max player anymore.
What action? Not saying he is a max player. Of course he left money on the table in the immediate future but the expectation was that he'd make it back over the course of his contract. More years making more than he is worth in 3-4 years.
If he plays 4 years, he could have had $41.8 MM over two years plus whatever he could have gotten for the next 2. I still contend that's more than he would get on a 4 year deal today.

Good luck to you lebron. Thanks for the great ride these past 4 years

Now it on Riley to build another contender.

As we're seeing all over the league with teams giving assets to dump salary, "nothing" isn't as bad it sounds.

If MIN doesn't like the assets they'd be getting back, there's no reason to do the deal.

It's unlikely, but there's a small chance MIN has a good year that convinces Love to stay. MIN can't give that up unless it's an enticing deal.

I hated the way LeBron left Cleveland, but that SI article showed what kind of man he really is. Lots of respect that he was able to swallow his pride and exert the willingness to put the past disrespect by Gilbert behind him.

Somebody put Todem on suicide watch...
eleventy billion percent he reneges and signs in Miami.
Get your LeBron jersey and stop being bitter. Enjoy it. What is wrong with you?
Todems been thumping his chest in here for weeks. He's gonna take a little razzing, and take it well I'd guess. Are you his lawyer or do you do his laundry or something? Relax
pretty sure he said anyone who thought LeBron would leave Miami was clueless and didn't really know what things were like with the Heat family.

150% SURE HE AIN'T LEAVING! Not even possible.
