*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (6 Viewers)

Cavs offer Waiters, Bennett and mult 1sts for Love.

If they can do this without Wiggins, I'll be amazed.

Even if Minny balks....I think Cle should hold firm (as long as that's what Lebron wants!).
Minnesota would be stealing Wiggins if they get him. Love is headed out the door anyway. Pick up the number 1 pick for a guy that is about to leave town?

I think Cleveland should not put Wiggins on the table. Minnesota will fold. They kind of have to.
There are other suitors for Love though. The question is with which of them will Love actually agree to sign an extension.

100% sure now. We would know if he was leaving Miami right now hell we would have known a week ago. Tomorrow they announce his extension along with Wade and Bosh's deals (which were already worked out I am sure). Here is what I think. Lebron would not string Pat Riley along like this. If Lebron was leaving he would have had the respect to tell Riley weeks ago so he could have made other moves for bigger ticket free agents and be able to field a team. Sorry I just can't imagine James ####s on Riley, Arison, Spo, Bosh, and Wade and the city of Miami like that after the last 4 years. Cleveland may think he #### on them…but he gave them 7 years and that owner is a putz.
oof.
Oh yeah the biggest one I have ever posted. But today is all about Cleveland. Enjoy and bask in the excitement. In the meantime I can't complain one iota. We have had Ana incredible improbable run. And now I will sit and wait to see what team I will be going to watch down at the AAA next season. It's pretty sobering when you know the best player on the planet just left ya. It sucks but we got his prime years and I would not I've that up.I was certain he would return. Why wouldn't I be. I love my team.Sue me.
Oh it definitely wasn't the biggest piece of garbage you posted. Just happened to be the first one I found.
Show some class Cliff. Nothing I posted was that irrational. We were all speculating and part of my posting style is for lack of a better term "excitable"?

I am doing all this in good fun and talking sports with the guys kinda tone.

Like I mentioned earlier, Love can force their hands if he refuses to sign. The only one crazy enough to do a deal without an extension might be Ainge. The other suitors don't really have more pieces than Cleveland even without Wiggins. Boston's picks aren't worth a lot apart from the Net's picks and they are a huge gamble. Phoenix has some nice picks but your still gambling with the lottery.

I realize I'm in the minority, but dealing Wiggins, the best prospect in years and under contract for what, 4 years at ~ $4M per year, for Love who will get what, 4 years at $18M, is a dangerous, dangerous gamble.

I'd keep Wiggins, and use the $14M saved on another big piece. Not to mention Waiters and Bennett who are still extremely young and wild cards themselves. A guy like LeBron could completely change those guys.
I totally agree with you. I wouldn't trade Wiggins for Love. Not a chance. I don't think Cleveland will do it, either. One of Wiggins strengths is supposed to be his defense. That is something that this team is going to need.

Wiggins is a guy Lebron will probably want to grow old with.

Cavs front office, do not make this mistake again. Do what's ebst for the team, not what LeBron wants. That's how you ####ed yourself the first time. Don't repeat the mistake.

The thing is, Love's probably not signing an extension with anybody. For the same reasons Alridge isn't extending with the Blazers. It just doesn't make sense to sign an extensions as opposed to waiting until FA.

I believe he has a player option for 16+ in the 15/16 season. He can opt-in for the team receiving him.

Any chance the heat score mello?
None. Reports 5 minutes ago that Lakers are out and he's down to Bulls or Knicks. My guess is he is angling for a S/T to Chicago so he can get a little more $$$ and Phil is laughing at him.
poor heatif they are smart they do not throw a bad contract at D Wade. I know he is heat for life yada yada yada, but it would be dumb to overpay him for the past.

Once he signs on the dotted line, for sure.

Wiggins is going to take a HUGE defensive burden off Lebron.
Yup, there's also this.

Love is great for spacing but he doesn't lighten LeBron's workload at all. Obviously he's a huge help on the boards too, but Cleveland was already in the top half of the league in rebounding even with last year's crappy roster. I'd stick with the elite defender who might be the league's next superstar and hope that LeBron's passing and the threat he poses turns a guy like Waiters into a solid perimeter threat.

Todem is a good dude guys. He never called anybody names, he homered up. And that's why he's likely the LHUCKS Memorial Homer of the Year

Can someone help me out with an analogy for a non-sports enthusiast wife?

Taking into account the track record of Cleveland sports franchises, the Lebron-Cleveland ties, and the sheer magnitude of the decision of the preeminent sports figure in the league to return to such a city...this would be like ____ doing ____.

So Cleveland is officially a better FA destination than LA.
Well the Lakers have Kobe, no way Lebron wants to play with his overpaid ###, if he wanted old and overpaid he woulda stayed in Miami

The Sterling thing being in flux pretty much rules out the Clippers, plus Lebron may be the best baller in the world, but there's no need to go West, stay out East and be smart

You called me Son after I called you out on the 'massive changes' Lebron and Bosh would be making. Show no class, get no class.

LeBron is like a smoking hot chick that lost her virginity in HS to a total loser, then dated some really good guys for a while, but she could never get over her first. She dropped out of college, went back home and got pregnant.

It's kind of like that, but tell her to pretend this was a world where this never, ever happened.

And a world where all her friends and family were super excited for her to do this.
