*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

Rajon Rondo is really good at basketball. Anyone see the MAVS Defensive rating since trade? Now dipping under 100 pts per 100 possessions...

The Richard Jefferson Revival continues with a huge defensive stop. Locked down Iso Joe. Overtime now.

Side note: Richard Jefferson has looked like he's really amazing since Rondo trade. Someone let me know why he has sucked for the last few years and how we got him so cheap?

JR Smith? :lmao:

Shoulda kept Wiggins.
Going back constantly to the Wiggins card is going to get old quick...if it hasn't already for some.
Old already? We're not even to the all star break of his rookie year. If he pans out you may be hearing about it for a decade.
Yeah, old already. The hindsight chatter that people love. The Cavs didn't make that trade with the next decade in mind.

no hindsight here.

I know we pan the Sixers, but the Knicks pu pu platter of suck might be worse.

The only good thing is I think Okafor is a guy you can build a team around.

Per Bob Finnan:

Knicks get - Capt. Kirk, Amundson, Cavs 2019 2nd rd pick

Cavs get - Shumpert, Smith, Thunder 2015 1st rd pick ('15 - top 18, '16 and '17 - top 15, then becomes two 2nds)

Thunder get - Waiters

Yuck. Don't think I like that for anyone. Crap flying everywhere.

Cavs just going to waive Smith?

Doubt it on Smith. Pretty sure he even has a decent relationship with Lebron...train together, etc.

Protection on OKC first rounder to Cavs: top 18 protected this year, top 15 protected in '16 and '17 then becomes 2 second round picks.

Hawks taking bad shots, shooting bad and can't make free throws. Also they can't keep Jordan off the boards. They are very lucky to even be in the game right now.

Blazers about to win again. Had to come back against the atrocious LA Flakers, but a win is a win and Portland quietly continues to do a lot of it. :coffee:

Aldridge is a beast. Hawks couldn't stop him for most of the game the other night. Very happy to get that win in such a great fans. I wish Atlanta had that kind of home court advantage but our fans kind of suck.

Hawks dribble penetration and ball movement is unbelievable.

It's over. Great win by Hawks @ Clippers.

Bulls are the likely favorites in the East but if the Hawks can keep their guys healthy, they definitely got a shot. They just thoroughly outplayed both Portland and Clips on the road.

Just so unselfish and great shooters everywhere. They really frustrated Paul who looked like he was going to punch someone during the 4th quarter.

That's a 3-0 West coast trip against Utah, Portland and LAC.

On huge thing for Atlanta is they've played all the top 7 West coast teams (save the Warriors) on the road and they've gone 5-1.

Murdered Blazers in the paint.

So speculation around the Thunder is bringing Waiters in just makes it easier to move a combination of Reggie Jackson, Lamb, and/or Perry Jones. I mean the Thunder can only play three #2's at a time, right?

When I go to LA at the end of the Month.

Lakers and bulls

Lakers and wizards

Clippers and nuggets

In that order right? (Caveat: I've never seen Kobe in person and I like watching rose play more than all but durant and James.)

Seemed like last season the value of even a later first-rounder went up. Wasn't Phoenix lauded for getting a first-rounder for Gortat?

Protected first rounder, Shumpert and Smith make Cleveland the clear winner in this one IMO. Seems like it puts Cleveland in better position to make another move as well.

What a difference Josh Smith makes.

Pistons won 6 straight.

Hawks #1 seed in East and playing awesome unselfish ball.
Smith should have to refund everyone who bet the Pistons win total over this year out of his ridiculous paychecks. Although the Pistons might get there anyway (it's 36).

Totally agree with your conclusion that it's a win for Cleveland and that it puts them in position to make another move for their ruim protector. But on the pick- Phoenix was lauded for that trade because the pick was only top-12 protected, it was thought to be a monster draft, and it belonged to the Wizards, who hadn't been over .500 in six years at the time. The Thunder's first round pick is not quite as valuable.
