He must be losing his mindMy Aztec buddy had bet the money line on the last 3 games, letting it ride and carry on. He's up quite a bit so he took the profits, bought a flight to Houston and a ticket to the F4 game tonight. Straight YOLO and that's why i love the guy.
They were 16-21 from the line.Lol at you guys complaining about the refs.
FAU has missed a ton of free throws
Turned the ball over numerous times
Missed layups
Gave up like 10 offensive boards , many of them on free throws misses by SDSU
The are lucky they aren't down 10 all in the last 6:45

No.Looked like Jordan against Georgetown.
It's what they're rooted in. Defense and defensive fire or energy. This game looks exactly like Miami's last game. The are getting outplayed severely and make some very tough shots to keep it close. Can they continue to survive this way?
They were top ten overall, but top two since January. One of the more crazy mis-seedings.I love that UConn was top-10 before the tourney in offensive and defensive efficiency, 5th and Kenpom and the committee made them a 4 seed. And we have to take these people seriously and pretend like they know what they’re doing. It’s crazy.
Aztec friend is alive and well. I hay video evidence of no voice but still drinking cocktails.
I thought UConn, SDSU, & FAU were all under-seeded when the tourney started, and yet they all made it to the FF. UConn should have been a #2. SDSU probably a #3. And FAU a #5. For some reason, that bad mid-winter stretch led many to forget about UConn.I love that UConn was top-10 before the tourney in offensive and defensive efficiency, 5th and Kenpom and the committee made them a 4 seed. But …the 8 to 10 foot jumper is quite the lost art these days.Miami needs to quit trying to get all the way to the hoop, UConn is to tall. They need to settle for some 8 to 10 foot jumpers on their drives.

The 4th place team had a better season than the others? I tend to discount single-elimination tournaments in favor of season-long accomplishments and measurables. But I'm a damned hippocrite, too. It's all a circle with no end.I thought UConn, SDSU, & FAU were all under-seeded when the tourney started, and yet they all made it to the FF. UConn should have been a #2. SDSU probably a #3. I like how difficult the seeding is these days, but there’s no way you can put the Big East 4th place team who didn’t even make the conference tournament final a #2.

Conference tournaments are pure variance. Shouldn’t be a factor at all.I thought UConn, SDSU, & FAU were all under-seeded when the tourney started, and yet they all made it to the FF. His saccharine-sweet reverence only surpassed by that colored sugar that covers Peeps(tm) this time of year. The annual reminder that Jim Nantz is the luckiest dude on the planet. Goes from Final Four courtside on a PJ to Augusta. What a jerk!!

Are the seeds supposed to be a reflection of season achievement or are they supposed to be speculative? Seems the committee waffles on this now whereas they used to stand firm that it was the former.
As a Nebrakan it's very hard for me to root for anything Iowa, but here we are. Never thought I would call a women's bball game must watch TV, but I set an Alexa reminder because Clark is just to much fun to watch.Caitlin Clark was approached by the Iowa Food Bank for an NIL deal. She agreed to work with them but wouldn't take any money. Great story about that in the Athletic. I know who I'm rooting for today!

This is a really good post. Are the seeds supposed to be a reflection of season achievement or are they supposed to be speculative? Seems the committee waffles on this now whereas they used to stand firm that it was the former.
They use both I think, which means there's always going to be a discrepancy if you only compare the seeds to efficiency metrics.
UConn is a good example. They clearly got punished for their stretch of losses in conference play. A lot of these losses were very close however, which resulted in not much of a penalty efficiency-wise. So when it came to seeding, they end up with a worse seed than their talent suggests.
San Diego State was also underseeded. Talent-wise, this final is actually a 2 vs 3.
All that said, I dont think the committee should change how they do things. Wins and losses should matter.
I'm pulling for Caitlin (but I just bet against her with LSU ML +135). Everyone is on the hype train with her (and rightfully so), but I always like to fade the hype.
How would you have seeded all 68 teams before you saw any NCAAT game results? I'm not trying to argue with you (you are smarter than I am), but any team's resume is a small sample size and we get caught up in these circular arguments that have no resolution. They matter, but I think they should be weighted lower than other concerns.Conference tournaments are pure variance. If UConn had won the Big East tournament, it would be an easier argument to say they should be a 3. But its really hard look at Xavier who beat UConn twice, finished second in the conference and played in the conf tournament final and then seed UConn higher because of Kenpom.

In support of my Iowan neighbors, I'm have a Busch Latte. No joke. Nebraskans drink a lot of those also.As a Nebrakan it's very hard for me to root for anything Iowa, but here we are.
