Let's take KU/UK to a separate thread, IMO.
So is ArcherHate to say it, but he is specialThis Okafor kid is pretty good![]()

ESPN is doing a bang-up job of hiring the most irritating people on the face of the earth:
- Smith
- Vitale
- Berman
- Cowturd
- Ray Lewis
- Bayless
- Neil Everett (excuse me.... NEIL EVERETT!!!!)
He shouts everything for no particular reason, after all.
Yeah, he's a Senior captain.Juan Anderson still there? I have paid none attention.Marquette with a huge 3 for the cover
This is where the platoon really helps - go balls out for 4-5 minutes, then get a breather, while the next wave comes in. And, the 2nd unit has more natural energy than the first.Holy balls this defense
I don't think I have ever seen a top 5 team play this timid before.UK is not even playing well. This is just KU playing scared imo
I was expecting UK to be able to run and jump everywhere. I was not expecting them to be this smart and relentless on defense. And it's not just contesting shots; UK's bigs are doing a great job cutting off penetration and passing lanes.Holy balls this defense
The guy I would want on my team most is Towns. But there are 9-10 guys on UK's roster who would be the best player on the majority of power conference teams.I have absolutely no idea who the best player on this team is...
I was hoping to see more of Alexander and Oubre. But all the foul calls against them were good calls. Alexander's second foul in particular was a boneheaded moving screen that begged for a whistle.Feels like this should be a 30-point lead. KU is fortunate to be this close.
BTW, it's only their second game and I'm already sick of hearing "White platoon" and "Blue platoon."
I can agree with this...I like Lyles a lot as well. WCS might be my choice though. The guy I would want on my team most is Towns. The guy with the highest pro ceiling might be Aaron Harrison. Great size for an NBA SG, deep shooting range, moves real well without the ball.I can agree with this...I like Lyles a lot as well. What's interesting is the last 3-4 minutes of the first half should be a stretch where the platoon system reaps big rewards. And that was when UK let KU back in the game.Feels like this should be a 30-point lead. KU is fortunate to be this close.
BTW, it's only their second game and I'm already sick of hearing "White platoon" and "Blue platoon."
Maybe form a mega-team and only lose by 20?UK's next three games are at home against Boston University, Montana State and Texas-Arlington.![]()
Those teams should arrange some unforeseen travel mishaps.

Drat. Ulis is exactly the player I was worried he would be. Blinding fast, outstanding distributor, nonstop motor, and too short to be early entry. He's going to provide continuity for UK for 3-4 years at a valuable position.
He let someone (Towns maybe) play with two against Buffalo. I think it matters who get the fouls - they are much deeper in the front court.I wonder if Calipari is going to figure out that when his 10 guys are all playing 16-24 minutes, the foul trouble standards aren't as tight.
Probably not going to matter, except maybe in a rowdy conference roadie with the refs influenced by the crowd. But there's no need to bench a guy with 2 fouls in the first half if he's only going to play 24 minutes, tops. Probably shouldn't sub out for foul trouble at all.
Its deeper - I am still not convinced UK is the best 1-5, but there is nobody close 1-10.The undefeated talk earlier isn't shtick. This team is more talented than the Augmon, LJ, Hunt, Anthony UNLV Rebs.
If they consistently bring the defensive intensity they had tonight, they won't lose. The undefeated talk earlier isn't shtick. This team is more talented than the Augmon, LJ, Hunt, Anthony UNLV Rebs.
