just witnessed the weakest foul call in the history of college basketball in the UK/Tennessee game. :bag:

This is a block???

ETA: UK is getting absolutely hosed. off the ball foul called on Ulis with 3 on the shot clock for UT. Announcers upon watching the replay "Not a lot there"

ETA: Hosed I say

Just checking in to point out how awesome Hield is.
If he didn't already have Big XII POY sewn up, he put it away last night. Will you be able to make it back to Norman for this weekend? Jayhawks knocked West Virginia down a peg tonight.
No :( Tickets and plane turned out too expensive and MY BROTHER DOESNT HAVE STUDENT TICKETS. Unbelievable.

I'm now planning spring break around tourney. Hopi g for a combo of cheap Southwest flights and I'll put costs I had reserved for a ski or beach trip into tickets. I've never been to the tourney, so really hoping I can make it work.

Jamal Murray just took a bad hit to the knee...walked off the court on his own, but that would effectively end UK's season if he is seriously hurt

eta: just checked back in

I can't cite the source off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure you're allowed to kick your brother in the nuts over this. Or deliver three slaps to the face any time between now and the rest of eternity.

Highly recommended. The NCAA Tournament really is special in person. Hard to describe the energy in the arena when a 14-seed takes the lead in the second half, or the tension and excitement of an opening tip at the Final Four.Pretty safe to assume opening weekend for OU will be at Chesapeake in OKC on Friday and Sunday. I'm guessing you don't need any tips on that site or city.

Really tough to figure what regional OU will draw. Louisville is the closest one, but that's the preferred site of a lot of teams floating around the top two seed lines right now. The Chicago 2-seed is the most likely destination for the Big XII runner-up, but gotta like OU's chances to win the conference. There will be enough Big East/ACC teams to keep a Big XII team out of Philly, but getting bumped out to Anaheim, especially as the last 1-seed, isn't out of the question.

I would LOVE if they ended up in Chicago. Have family - would get to save on hotel costs haha.

Anaheim would be way easier to travel to. Could just drive. Thanks for insight here!

WTF are the students at Texas Tech doing rushing the court? You beat the 14th ranked team in the country. Iowa State is a very good program, but they aren't in the top half of the Big 12 standings right now.

I may be getting too old, but this constant court storming is BS. Act like you expected to win. KState didn't rush the court after beating Oklahoma, when The Sooners were #1.

CBB media completed a mock bracket selection exercise today in Indianapolis. Here are the results.

They have OU as the overall #1 and put them in Chicago (via OKC). OU must have expressed a preference of Chicago over Louisville, which is about 40 miles closer to Norman.

How in the hell is Lefty Driesell not already in the Basketball Hall Of Fame? I just heard that he's made the final handful for induction YET AGAIN. Are they gonna wait for him to die?

Gotta love fans...UK is up 27 at South Carolina. Tyler Ulis shoots a 3 that comes up about 3 feet short. Ulis has 21points and 11 assists at the time. Crowd erupts in air ball chants and keeps it up for the next 2 possessions

Direct flight for local fans. And hell, yeah if they end up in Chicago. I will be there.
Probably more OU alumni in Chicago than Louisville, too. Since we're talking about a difference of ~770 and ~810 miles, the difference is trivial. Aren't really going to notice the difference driving or flying.

What did Calipari do to get ejected in first 3 minutes?
Working the refs wanting them to call South Carolina for over the backs when crashing the offensive glass. I think they actually did call one one on the play where he got whistled, but I believe he was still complaining about the previous possession.

I turned it on it right as it was happening so I might have missed something. Announcers weren't good. They were congratulating offensive players for drawing fouls when they were called for charging a couple of times, then didn't say a word to correct themselves when possession went the other way.

22 years to the day since the infamous Cal-Chaney incident (Feb. 13, 1994 ... which, as I have mentioned here before, I witnessed firsthand in the room).

Also, almost 20 years since Cal got ejected in a home game against George Washington when UMass was still unbeaten (Feb. 25, 1996).

Cal got tossed last time @ South Carolina as well.

Buzz Peterson among others blasted official Doug Sirmon on twitter:

What Doug Sirmons did today is absolutely embarrassing to college officiating. He has a short fuse and coaches for years have complained. @BuzzPeterson

got a feeling Buzz might have been on the short end of that Sirmons fuse before

One more thing on the UK/SC game...Assistant Coach Kenny Payne said that he and coach John Robic coached the defense and Tyler Ulis coached the offense after Cal got tossed.

Crazy part about that to me is that Ulis is not some 5th year senior...he's a SOPHOMORE in his first year as a starter.

Getting some good theater with the hoops. First Graham clapping at Hield while guarding him, then Hield chirping at the KU bench after draining a couple threes to give the Sooners the lead.

This is great.

This is shaping up to being an odd NCAAT. There's not a lot of mid/low-major teams that could make a run, but the majors are flimsy as hell at the top too.

by the way...the Allen shot for Duke should not have counted. He clearly landed before the ball left his hand (although I don't know that I've ever seen that called, especially in a moment like that)
