Need help with organization of a Kid's fun league (1 Viewer)

i am running a FF League for my son and several friends, all about 8-11 years old. This is our 2nd year..

Last year was all about learning. We had bloated rosters, laid back rules and lots of fun. Unfortunately we had 9 teams, so the 10th team was the League Average of the Week. The kids didn't want byes (I don't blame them). For the off week, they got a win if there score was higher than the league average and lost if not.

Here is where I need help. I don't want to do that anymore - its no fun when you lose to nobody, but I can't seem to get a 10th team.

Any suggestions on how to run a 9 team league like this without byes?

Thanks

does the league site handle 3 team matchups? where you can have 3 teams playing each other, 1st place gets 2 wins, 2nd goes 1-1 and 3rd goes 0-2? if not, I don't see a way to do a 9-team league without byes or playing the league average

no way around it with head to head that i can think of. unless you just put them all in one div and most points at end of year win. I'm sure they can find another friend?

There's a section on the main Footballguys site that has schedules for a zillion different league configurations. I'm sure they have one for nine teams with no byes, I assume it involves doubleheaders, which may be even more fun for the kids anyway. I'm on my phone now but I can find and link to it later if someone doesn't do it before then.

If worst comes to worst, just create and control the 10th team...draft the team straight off a cheatsheat of some sort...don't make shark moves in FA, just add the BPA when one of your players either suffers injury or for bye week fill ins...

think there are setting where everyone plays two match ups per week. That way every plays but two teams play only once.
