basics, 12 team auction league, $200 cap, roster of 18 players, No cash can be carried.
Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def/ST
TD =6, passing for td = 4.
rushing or receiving =.1 per yd .1 per 9 pass completions, .1 for every 2.5 yds completed, 1 point for each 3 receptions, 1 point for each 9 rushing attempts. -2 per INT, -2 per fumble.
keep: 1 franchise player for 3 years at year1 auction price. 2 restricted free agents that go thru the auction & I can match bid and retain the player. Restricted free agents are not declared be fore the draft.
I have:
Rudi Johnson @ $3 for 2 more years.
the following players would all be eligible to be franchised for 3 years
Ronnie Brown @ $23, Marc Bulger @ $24, Ruben Droughns @ $6.
rest of roster worth claiming as RFA;
Cedric Houston (Jets) $1
Deion Branch
Drew Bennet
L. Coles
my original idea is franchise Rudi for $3 and match offers for R. Brown and Droughns.
Then take my chances to get WR's. Based on what i have read on FBG and the FBG Magazine Brown should go for about $50 and Droughns $30 that would give me 3 backs for $83 with 117 to fill up the rest of the team.
the owner who has Alexander needs quality back and has alexander. he went for $70 last year I would have to match a Bid for Ronnie brown or Alexander. There is a big difference in projected points, and averaging Rudi with Alexander or LT at 70 would be $36 per back. Portis would be in the mid fifty range with an average of $28 for Rudi and Portis.
Is it a wrong stratagy to go for alexander when i have a top 7 back for $3 in a 200 cap league? Or am i looking at it like a shark would?
