A few months ago I nearly landed a job with some company. I was asking for more money than they were comfortable and I'm confident that was one of the reasons they ultimately passed.
Today my recruiter contacted me to see if I'd still be interested. It seems the internal candidate they promoted didn't work out. I don't know if they were fired, demoted, transferred to another location, or promoted.
My recruiter says they don't know what happened but advised me to not ask. It's pretty unusual for someone just promoted into that position to leave this time of year.
I'm meeting with the company next week. Should I listen to my recruiter? Do I need to ask any questions regarding that situation? This particular scenario is new territory for me so I thought I'd cede to the ffa expertise.
