Here is the deal.

We use Myfantasyleague.com. I'm the commish. The week before I didn't have our waivers set up quite right since the Thursday games, so the owners to email their pickups. We have first come first serve. This week I had it set up correctly. An owner had Bo Scaife as his only TE in our TE mandatory league. He emailed me to pick up Ben Utecht and drop Najeh Davenport. I don't recall him telling me to put Utecht in his lineup, but I'm not sure and didn't keep the email. This was Friday and he didn't check his lineup until after the 1:00 PM deadline on Sunday. He still had Scaife in his lineup, who didn't play. He then emailed me and wanted to know why Utecht was'nt in his lineup.

Should I put in Utecht or should he get a "0" for his TE this week. This is the playoffs and his opponent has Vinatieri left and down by 9.5 points. We get 3 points/ FG, 4 for 40-50 yds, and 5 for over 50yds. 1/ XPT. Thanks.

Tell him to He had the opportunity to insert Utecht and chose not to. He wouldn't be #####ing if Scaife had scored.

We have blind bids until Tuesday night at 9 and then first come first serve until 1:00 PM on Sunday. I just had it set as kickoff of the following week. It worked fine until they started playing Thursday night games. I have it set now.

If its a casual work league or something just let him get by. You made the mistake and he didn't have enough time to insert it in his lineup.

His "sent mail" doesn't automatically keep a copy of all email?

I would assume he picked up Utecht to start him since Scaife was hurt. It's too bad he didn't check his starting lineup prior to 1 PM Sunday. Not having the e-mail in his sent box is fishy. Tough decision on your part. Hopefully, Utecht's points don't affect the outcome of the game.

Tough one.

If he informed you that he wasn't able to set his lineup, I would have to say put him in there. There was a reason he picked him up & by the looks of things it didnt seem he knew the ww problem was corrected.

I would contact the other owners in the playoffs now and discuss it with them also to get a set base on what the owners think.

Another way to figure it out is when was scaife listed as doubtful/questionable etc...i haven't been following TEs since i use Gates but if its been all week where he was listed like this then I tihnk you should allow him to use Utect

edit: I think the owner had all intentions of playing Utect but that is just MHO

Hotmail.com doesn't keep sent emails unless you save them. I personally checked his email sent box.

Ouch. That whole situation must have sucked for all of you involved.

The Utecht owner probably meant to have him in his lineup but he should accept some responsibility for not making sure the switch was made. There's no way to prove his intentions now since the emails have been deleted. (Let me just add here that as a commisioner myself I do not delete any emails until the season is over. There have been many times where I've had to go back to an email to prove another owner right or wrong.)

The Vinatieri can make a valid claim that he should win the game.

Here's a solution that should keep everybody somewhat happy:

For the rest of the playoffs seperate the brackets (and the payouts) into two halves. One bracket will have the other three teams and the Utecht owner (let's call him Team U). The other bracket will have the other three teams and the Vinatieri owner (Team V). So that means that Teams U and V can only win half of the money they normally would have won. The other teams should not be affected.
