Nelson Cruz (1 Viewer)

shut it down

Benched for the third time this week...paradoxically, against a righty, and he's been smashing them far more than lefties this year.

Is this bad? A temporary thing, I hope? Alleviated by a possible trade? Worsened by the return of Basketball Diaries?

He's in a slump.Baseball's a streaky sport.Relax.
I got that, but RW benching him makes no sense. He's fine against righties, and a superior option to Byrd, Murphy and Jones at the plate, and he's fielding well right now. I'm not worried about Cruz, I'm worried about irrationality on the part of Texas' coaching staff.

Join the club. Great ####### idea on the extension.

Apparently he's giving him a mental break because he's looked tired lately. Makes sense. Glad it doesn't sound like a permanent thing.

Tell that to Ron Washington. Since baseball is a streaky sport, maybe the Rangers should let him work through it.
:jawdrop:Schitck?
Nah I don't do the whole fishing or shtick thing. The response below about the irrationality of the Texas staff pretty well sums up my point. I don't think the OP was freaking out about Cruz's struggles; I think he was worried about the fact that at the first sign of trouble, the guy sits 3 of 7 games. Kinda strange for a guy pushing 20 HR in half a season -- you'd think they'd let him work it out on his own, that's all.
