New England at NY Jets (1 Viewer)

ASJ with 2nd TD - but it is under review. Looked good on first glance but who the hell knows these days

OMG - Jets just got royally screwed - they said he fumbled it out of the end zone and yet he had it in his hand.
That might be the worst call I've even seen,  WOAH.

that is absolute insanity. Not that the Jets were going to win this game anyway, but that's absolute robbery. How can you POSSIBLY say that there was indisputable evidence that ASJ didn't regain possession before he hit the ground.

Just give the Pats another trophy now if you're going to give them that call. What an absolute disgrace./

And oh yeah, its an 8  point swing in my fantasy game because I have ASJ.

16 years later and the league is still rigging it for the pats....just incredible the calls this team gets year in and out

Their weak sauce explanation was he lost control of the ball and did not regain control until AFTER he hit the pylon.

That is now THREE calls (or non-calls) that were DEAD WRONG that totally screwed the Jets.  The league has to be proud of this one.

14 points directly from the officials on a phantom pi that puts the ball on the 1 and then a td wiped out inexplicably.

what an absolute joke.

So if I toss the ball from one hand to the other or I lose the grip on ball but regrab it -  it's considered a fumble and a recovery. Because that ball never hit the ground.

Didn't think it was that crazy of a call. You can make a case that the ruling wasn't conclusive. But in my opinion he lost control of the ball and regained control with the other hand after already going out of bounds.

Where did he lose control? You see the ball moves but teh next shot you see he is on the ground with control. Where did you clearly see the ball out of control and him out of bounds? There isn't a shot of that, and remember it was a TD on the field.

Just saw the replay on Redzone....what a brutal call that was. He definately lost control, but regained it...I THOUGHT before he hit the ground or OOB, so why would the pylon even matter?

Either way...it's a rule that deserves tweaking as the defense doesn't deserve a bailout in that situation. Make the defense recover the darn ball  to get a turnover.

contrarian by nature or lifetime pats fan since 2001?

I only got a couple looks at the replay but I saw the ball totally in the air just as he was crossing the goal line. I don't believe he regained control until his shoulder was out of bounds. But I am surprised they over turned it, yes, as I said you could say it wasn't conclusive.

It's obvious he lost control, but then his body obscured the vision of the ref/camera. So I think the issue is that they didn't believe that there was indisputable evidence that he did regain control before.

That's not how replay works. It was ruled a td on the field
