Why is it a stupid rule? He didn't complete the catch. It is a really stupid rule. As a Pats fan I will take the win but Pittsburgh deserved to win it.

Agree the rule is stupidIt is a really stupid rule. As a Pats fan I will take the win but Pittsburgh deserved to win it.
Yes, at least enough. The ball moved, but wasn't his other hand under the ball the whole time?
It was astonishing how long it took to click in Romo’s head.German play-by-play called it as soon as the replay was shown.
Thats what I was thinking. Not enough to overturn it.The ball moved, but wasn't his other hand under the ball the whole time?
No.The ball moved, but wasn't his other hand under the ball the whole time?
because it looks like a catch, he has control of the ball and crosses the goal line with it. To me and I think to most fans and coaches you would consider that a TD.Why is it a stupid rule? He didn't complete the catch.
I don't think so. He had one hand on each side of the ball and his left hand came off when it hit the ground. I told my wife immediately after the first close up that the TD was going to be taken away. I'm actually surprised it took as long as it did.The ball moved, but wasn't his other hand under the ball the whole time?
Bobbling a catch is one thing, but clearly grabbing the ball with both hands, bringing it in towards his body, and then extending to to reach over the goal line is enough demonstration of control to me. (Not a Steelers fan)To what?
What year are you posting from?Guy had the ball firmly under control and a knee down when he crossed the goal line. #### this league
But it's not a catch. So how can he score a TD when he didn't even catch it.because it looks like a catch, he has control of the ball and crosses the goal line with it. To me and I think to most fans and coaches you would consider that a TD.
ThisI'm firmly aware of the rules, but that was still a BS call in my book. Yes, one hand came off the ball, but he still had enough of the other hand under the ball to be given the benefit of the doubt, especially since it was ruled a TD on the field. I saw no conclusive evidence to overturn that one.
Would you get rid of the “going to the ground” rule?Bobbling a catch is one thing, but clearly grabbing the ball with both hands, bringing it in towards his body, and then extending to to reach over the goal line is enough demonstration of control to me. (Not a Steelers fan)
I doubt most coaches do.because it looks like a catch, he has control of the ball and crosses the goal line with it. To me and I think to most fans and coaches you would consider that a TD.
How did he demonstrate possession? And yes he went down in the process of his catch in his own.He caught the ball. Demonstrated possession. Knee was down. He then extended the ball towards the goal line which was a football move.
He wasn't going down in the process of the catch.
Un####ingbelievable.
I think a lot of this is driven by Pats hate, which I totally get. Went from a high to a disaster in the space of a few seconds. A lot of emotion-driven narrative is all. Really nothing new or unexpected. What year are you posting from?
He had it in his hands, and pulled it into his body. His knee was down. Then he extended it while turning towards the end zone. How did he demonstrate possession? And yes he went down in the process of his catch in his own.
Literally nothing you said is true
I’ve watched it...he didn’t pull the ball all the way in and reached out as he is going down making the catch. He had it in his hands, and pulled it into his body. His knee was down. Then he extended it while turning towards the end zone.
Everything I said was true. Watch the play.
try harderThat was one of Brady's best 51 4th quarter or overtime comebacks of his career.
Doubt anyone blames him for trying to win. But he threw in to what, triple coverage? Just a horrible decision.I can't blame Ben for trying to win it in regulation. Pats went right down the field on their last drive
No but if you go for it go for it not that dumb fake snap playI can't blame Ben for trying to win it in regulation. Pats went right down the field on their last drive
That ball basically sat on the ground. Not a catch by NFL standards. The ball moved, but wasn't his other hand under the ball the whole time?
He caught it with his back to the end zone, pulled it in closer to his body and controlled it enough WITH HIS KNEE DOWN to rotate his entire body around and extend the ball towards the end zone. THat's possession with a knee down and a football move.I’ve watched it...he didn’t pull the ball all the way in and reached out as he is going down making the catch.
Possession was never demonstrated.
And I was pulling for Pitt there.
It wasn’t a catch by any definition.
Yep, they are the voodoo hex of the NFL.Has any team won more games on absolute stupidity by the other team than the Pats? Teams just lose their marbles in crunch time vs them. It’s amazing.
Well if you believe the Pats don't cheat I guess you will believe anything. The real winners tonight are the kids in impoverished countries. The Steelers had “AFC No. 1 Seed” hats and T-shirts all ready to wear with just the final score of their victory over the Pats needed to be inscribed, and they'll be donating those in time for the holidays.
Wear them proudly, kids.
