New guppy in our league just dropped Moreno.... (1 Viewer)

If is is a 16 team league you have a point. If it is a 10 team league and someone dropped a

back up RB on a bad team.... I think we are all finding what guys did last year doesn't mean

a whole lot.

If Redman was on the waiver wire in a dynasty then that means you've got pretty short benches, so I don't think it is a bad move.

Somebody dropped a handcuff to a RB on a mediocre running team . . . and he gets a thread for it?

lol . . . it's really not a terrible move.

I love these threads that have an unexpected result for the op. Count me in as another who doesn't think this is a terrible move. Though if I was the "guppy" I probably would've sent out a trade offer or two as it appears at least 1 person in the league still has some hope for Knowshon.

Be sure to snap up Moreno. Maybe he will be on a team with Thomas Jones next year so he can land a starting job.

Never been a Moreno guy and Redman has as good a chance or better to be valuable in dynasty. And his short term prospects look better to me too. He's definitely the better start this week and who knows what happens the rest of the year.

Either way definitely not a "guppy" or stupid move. More Hawkish if anything.

I think it's unanimous so far.

The Englishteacher is not getting the answers he was looking for.

Now the TRUE Karma to this will be, 6 weeks from now when the OP digs this thread back out and shows you all how wrong you are (if that happens..not saying it will).

I can get along either side of the argument on this one since its dynasty he is talking about. Its a long season. A guy that so many are calling irrelevant today might be the guy that helps win a league 2 months from now.

It happens sometimes. I had Brandon Jacobs, Jason Witten, Mike Wallace, and Mario Manningham in a dynasty last year and it was no surprise I was 2-5 at one point. But then look at how all those underperformers caught fire the last month of the season. I cruised to the title.

I agree with most above that I don't think Moreno will do that this year but in a dynasty, one month into a season with no organized offseason on a team with a new coach is too soon to give up on a 24 year old RB who has a 30 year old RB in front of him.

Not saying he will amount to anything but Moreno has been relatively productive in the past. The hate train for him is out of control.

Well without arguing which player is more valuable in a dynasty, as I might agree that Redman has just as good or better a chance for long term value (I believe he's a FA after this season) as Moreno, I think the hate for Moreno is going a little too far.

No one in this thread would even pick Moreno off the waiver wire in a dynasty league? He at least has the skill set to be a 3rd down/CoP back and at 24 does still have some time to be an asset.

Well I already my my smart### comment but if the league is so shallow that his best option to drop was Moreno for Redman than I don't disagree (I'd have to see his other roster options).

Better option would have been to trade him to someone who still thinks he would amount to something, which he probably could have done.

If he was waived in any of my dynasty leagues, I'd sign him. I wouldn't kill myself to get him but I would try to add him. Conversely I wouldn't offer much to get him in a trade, late pick or maybe a couple FA$

Exactly. He got dumped in my redraft, 10 Teamer, but in a dynasty, I'd possibly maneuver just to pick him up.At worst, he's garnish in a big deal, or worth a draft pick to a rb hungry team....

Biggest guppy move was this ##### bag who quit our dynasty league after one week. During our startup draft he traded his 2012 1st and 25th rd startup selection for Tandon Doss and a 2012 2nd rounder.

That 1st rounder is likely the No. 1 pick.

Thanks, guppy.
