Bucs Sign McCoy & Lehman

The Pewter Report reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free-agents LB Matt McCoy and LB Teddy Lehman.

Seems that TB is pretty well set with their LBers June, Brooks and Ruud - where do people see McCoy and Lehman fitting in? Strickly back-up or does maybe a change of scenery for Lehman bring him to new life?

Count me as a disappointed Quincy Black owner. My guess is they're special teams guy?

Lehman might be a decent back up for Ruud. MLB is his best projection IIRC. McCoy was at one point believed to be a candidate for OLB in Philly so maybe he projects to back up June or Brooks?

Two guys that can run and, theoretically, cover.

McCoy couldn't hack it in Philadelphia before the competition got healthy and better. He'll make the roster if someone big gets released, but I'd think he starts out behind the starters, Black and Nece at minimum.

Lehman's interesting, but I wouldn't bet on him bumping anyone from the lineup. May bump Black into mostly OLB snaps this offseason, though, so it's worth watching how the post draft mini-camps play out. I'd rather have Black than Lehman right now.
