Goodness. Mad Max : Fury Road is very loud. And with that... I've turned into my mother.

I loved The Road Warrior, and I'd put it and Aliens at the top of my action movie list. Fury Road might be better than both of those as a pure action movie. Remember the climatic chase scene in Thunderdome? It was a recreation of the Road Warrior, and it just didn't work as well. Fury Road is a similar recreation, and it's significantly better than the original in many many aspects. The automotive/mechanical/war boy mayhem goodness is just incredible. The Road Warrior did have The Feral Kid and Wes, (one of the best bad guys of all time, btw), so I'm not sure how the two will compare over repeated viewings.I am going to go ahead and say it. I like this movie more than I do Road Warrior. I really like Road Warrior.
No different than having drummers and flag people in wars before radio. I took it as this is how they communicated signals in battle. Although, I kept waiting for President Commacho to pop up from a vehicle.I'll rain on this parade.
Fury Road was too much action, not enough plot/story to be considered in the upper echelon of action movies IMHO.
Hell, I still don't know much about the main antagonist or second protagonist(Max.) There wasn't enough story here to really draw me in. Also, the guitarist/flamethrower guy and some other attributes made the movie a bit over the top for my taste, not as believable. When I watched the Road Warrior, I always thought "this could happen." You are either believable or totally out there(star wars) for me to be intrigued...movies in the middle tend to lose me.
Good, but not as great as Road Warrior, T2, Aliens and some of the other all time greats that have been mentioned in the same sentence.
And as I implied earlier, I'll take Ex Machina over Fury Road.
8.5 stars
ETA - a female biker clan surviving in the wasteland = not believable
My take on mad max films is that they are sort of allegories to bigger ideas and concepts of life. How much this is needed or how successful it is, well your mileage may vary. I call thunderdome the best bad movie ever made. Becuase if basically sucks but there are aomlany good parts.I'll rain on this parade.

I'll second this.Only movie I can remember where 3-D was worth it.
