New Orleans at Atlanta (1 Viewer)

I wasn't referring to the Falcons.
I'll eat my hat if the Vikings win the SB.  The defense is good but when the playoffs start Case and Teddy is not winning a SB.  I guess that means you will be extra salty.

Not trolling at all. I was sick of seeing people talk about how they are somehow better than teams that beat them. I hope that ends now.
You knock out six of your opponents' starters at home, you gotta do better than a three-point win to claim anything beyond scoreboard.
The Saints carved their path to the Super Bowl by knocking opponents' starters out of games. :bountygate:

This is a non sequitir.

My point was that with the Saints as decimated as they were last night, Atlanta only winning by 3 at home was not impressive. They got scoreboard for one week ... yes. But people aren't looking at last night's game and saying to themselves "OK, the 2016 Falcons are back, and they're going to buzzsaw through the NFC now".

Not “someone’s” snap judgement. A trained neurologist’s snap judgement - seems like an important distinction.

The judgment is when to check vs when to not check. Not sure if the neurologist is making that call or not.
It’s supposed to be. It’s why he’s there. That’s how it works.
WWL Radio (New Orleans) color analyst Deuce McAllister said on the radio today that he heard the game referee say that it was his determination to remove Kamara from the game. I assume what was meant is that it was the referee's decision to have Kamara checked out by the neurologist.

That’s it exactly.

If the refs see something the neurologist doesn’t, they direct the player to see the neurologist, who can also watch the replays.

They explained during the broadcast that the ref immediately signaled for the neurologist.

i get the frustration of FFB owners over this stuff - it sucks to lose a player mid-game. But honestly this is one of those things I think the NFL got right.

Sending a player back in with the old “how many fingers am I holding up? Close enough.” E.g. the football I grew up watching is so dangerous.

and we know that the most critical time for a player is immediately after a concussion occurs. Subjecting them to another hit can be life altering.

So yeah - in the end it’s “one guy’s opinion” whether it’s a neurologist or a ref (in which case it’s 2 guys opinions), but it’s an important step in preventing brain trauma.

That seems just slightly more important than our magical football teams.

Nice strawman - I'm pretty sure nobody was making either of those arguments.
