I had seen this, the picture was given to folks on the Vikes email list with a claim that it was from someone with a connection with Rebok. Another list member is fairly certain it is a hoax. Controversy has ensued on the email list.

I those are really the jersey's, hate them. Especially the "spotted" effect.

It is a scan from a catalog ( or more likely the printing sheets before an actual catalog). Probably leaked from someone at Reebok or the printer/graphics.
 
The Vikings will unveil their new uniform designs on April 27 at the Mall of America. While there have been photos circulating that have a drastic redesign that has the Vikings Norseman logo on the helmet and the traditional horns removed from the helmet and replaced on the sleeve, team officials have denied that those changes are authentic. The horn is expected to remain the signature of the helmet. However, as hard as we tried, we couldn't get confirmation that the plan to use purple pants was also a hoax. Mr. Blackwell salivates; fashion-conscious Vikings fans weep.

Looks like it could be either all purple pants or white at home.

Without a doubt going to purple pants on the road.

I like them as long as we keep the white pants at home as I hate the all one color look.

They look good to me, no major changes and the purple pants will look tight with the road whites.
 
What font is that for the numbers? It almost looks like a bubble-font but not quite. I cannot put my finger on it.

 
As rumored, these have the mini logo on the back above the name plate, a trend first started by the Cardinals last year.

I think the font will be the same font however not BOLD as before. Looks like it to me anyway...BEFORE and AFTER !!

(Not sure about the name of the font.) :shrug:

With the removal of the NORSEMAN from the sleeves and the addition of the horns to the jerseys mean that.......

We are about to have the NORSEMAN on the helmet ???? :confused:

Wilf said the only change to the helmet would be to enhance the horn, making it more 3d like.
 
Just scored this link from vikings.scout.com, most certainly the most pissy fan site I've ever witnessed. Still, I go there and browse. Kinda pissy myself. Viking fans like pain, misery, suffering, and the occasional lap dance.....

Those links were the result of a hacker and were blocked this afternoon. Someone from the Viking Update board managed to save them and here they are.

(As mentioned earlier, I really like them and cannot wait to see the whole uniform.)

JUST FOUND THIS...

The real and not blacked out picture from the billboards in Minnesota.

Looks like WHITE PANTS for the Home Jerseys and hopefully purple for the ROAD.

Notice the stripe down the leg on BIRK with the NORSEMAN logo just below the waist. Looks to be a stripe that travels thru the entire side of both the jersey and pants.

Still no sign of the new helmet.

i gotta be honest those have to be the ugliest uniforms in the nfl right now... hopefully the helmet will salvage the uniforms...

 
I think the away jerseys would be much better if the strip transcending the purple pants and white jersey was gold. I think this would look much better without actually seeing it.

 
Anybody notice the gold trim on the underside of the horns (on the jersey)? I wonder if the white horns on the helmet will have the same gold strip?

At least the jersey color was changed to match the helmet. I guess I never noticed we had a blueple helmet before.I believe these are the changes (off the top of my head) of the Viking jersey changes over the years (With a guess at the year).

Original - purple with nothing on the sleeve

Early 70s - purple with white trip lines on the sleeve

Late 70s \ Early 80s - Purple with white\gold lines moved up to the shoulder

mid 80s \ early 90s - Purple with white\gold stripes moved back down to the sleeve

early \ mid 90s - Purple with 'Viking Guy' on sleeve

The jersey is still about the same, slight change in color and and Viking horn coming and across the shoulder instead of the historical stripes.

I don't think the new ones will end up to be bluepale, unless you have seen them in person. How things look from a camera are easily changed by lighting, flashes, camera angle, camera lens, graphics application, etc...To pull a comparison from another board:

Moore

vs

Sharper

Both are from last year.

I like the change and hope that it does for the Vikings what it has done for the Broncos, Rams, Bucs, and Patriots before. Seattle should be on the list however some really bad officiating ruined it for them.

The purple jerseys look way better than the whites. I like the purple jerseys.

The pants are horrendous.

At least they aren't going to wear purple tops with purple pants.

Agreed. Especially horendous is the stripe on the sides of the pants. I didn't like it when Denver debuted this type of stripe, and still don't find it appealing.
 
I really like the new uniforms. For the most part, I think they are still traditionally the same uniforms they came into the league with, however with some new twists.

The white jersey, white pants and purple vertical stripe actually look pretty good too.

I also like the new helmet, basically still the same but with a more polished look.

Overall a big :thumbup: for me.

Well said, I personally feel they are ALL horrendous.They look like the Bronco Uni's and I ahte the Broncos deal.

But, Zygi needs $ and what better way to get it than to redo the uniforms to the fans.

I still remember when Bill PArcells unveiled the "new" Jets uniforms, no one knew what to say. Becasue they were the OLD Jets uniforms. And I like them.

I actually liked the white/white best.Another thing: If you were to pick a player to model your new uniforms, would any player be farther down your list than "Fat" Pat Williams?

He looked like he was auditioning for the lead in "The Attack of the Killer Eggplants."

One cool thing they did at the presentation was to bring out some historic Vikings wearing each iteration of the jersey style. Jim Marshall, Paul Krause, Joey Browner, and Randall McDaniel were there.

And some of the cheerleaders looked better in person than they do online.

Correct. The stripe on the pants is THE problem with the whole thing. Because they went white pants with the white stripe on the purple jerseys, they were stuck. What they should have done is to make the stripe on the side of the jersey YELLOW and then continued that down through the pants.

I must of missed when we went from Football to a fashion show?Are you really going to notice if the stripes don't lineup when Brad throws a 10 Yard TD to Robinson??

 
When looking at the player options I'm struck by one thing...

There is ZERO star power on this roster.

Actually, they don't have J.Wiggins in Youth size.But they DO HAVE a Koren Robinson :banned: :suds: in youth size.

:goodposting: For both of you! I like them. I have always liked the purple ones, but the white jersey with white pants I wasn't fond of. I ilke the purple pants with the white jersey. :thumbup:

 
From what I've heard the helmets are going to still feature the horn...though it sounds like it is going to be retooled abit to make it look a little more 3-D. I've not found a good picture showing what exactly a 3-D horn is going to look like. :confused:
