Perhaps a little early but its interesting to look at which players are likely to make the team and which are still borderline. Obviously its too late in the decade for emerging players to make the team so Mr. Peterson will have to hope that his form continues througth to the 2010's. Infact, when considering this it does seem a little unfair on the guys whose career spans from one decade to another. Never-the-less, here are some of my thoughts.
See the 1990s team for the format:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_1990s_All-Decade_Team
Lets start with Offense:
QB (2 spots available)
Peyton Manning - Lock
Tom Brady - lock
Well that was easy!
RB (4 spots available)
LT2 - lock
Shaun Alexander - seems fairly likely
Edgerrin James - seems fairly likely
Need solid performance in the 2 remaining years - Portis, LJ
Should Curtis Martin and Marshall Faulk be considered even though they played their most productive years in the 90s?
WR (4 spots available)
Harrison - lock
TO - lock
Moss - seems fairly likely
Holt - seems fairly likely
I think only Steve Smith could surplant Holt and would have to have 2 monster seasons. Does Moss get the nod despite his disappearing act in Oakland?
TE (2 spots available)
Gonzalez - lock
Gates - lock
Next.
Tackle (4 spots available)
Ogden - lock
Pace - lock
Walter Jones - lock
Chris Samuels - seems fairly likely
Could a case be made for Willie Anderson or Tarik Glenn? Matt Light could creep in with another 2 solid seasons?
Guard (4 spots available)
Shields - lock
Faneca - lock
Ruben Brown - lock
Steve Hutchinson - seems fairly likely
Center (2 spots available)
Olin Kreutz - seems fairly likely
Kevin Mawae - seems fairly likely
I would think Jeff Saturday could be worth consideration if he played to the same high level for the next two seasons.
