NFL Capping Challenge 2016!!! (1 Viewer)

Pretty bummed that my picks screwed up and didn't save Week 11. I haven't scored a 1 all year besides that bogus week. I'm still going to try and pull off a Top-5 finish.

Hitting at 56.5%. I guess that's somewhat of an accomplishment.

so Nero, if you want to slow down for a week or so and make the final week for entertaining, i am sure there are a few of us who would be supportive. I just closed the damn window that i had opened, but it seems like you have a bit of a lead over the pack. Congrats on one hand, but on the other let us in on your secret and let us catch up :P

I also just saw on the site some analysis of the picks. anybody ever look into this or use it? seems pretty useless to me from what i looked at. There is a bet this week i think i like quite a bit, and they were saying it is one of their "A" picks, but i couldn't find out who they were supporting. based on their predicted numbers for the game i think we are on opposite sides, so like most expert picks it looks like a bunch of b.s.

by the way, for anyone interested the game i am referring to is the Skins-Eagles game. I happen to think the Skins can cover the 3.5 pretty easily, but their stats seems to say the Eagles win cover easily

Last week was a slow week, I only got two right. I have a bit of a lead over the pack, but only a two game lead over second place.

I go pretty hard into the stats and handicap each team and give it a betting number. I use my hypothetical line vs the actual line to determine if the game is a play for me. Then I check the sos schedule and how the team is trending based on how I handicap to make a final decision.

For instance last week I had Green Bay at -9.25. I had Oakland at 0.75. Giving Oakland a -3 for home field put my hypothetical line at Oakland +7. The actual line was Oakland +2.5, so there was enough of a difference where I thought Green Bay was a play. However, my sos adjustment was 7.5 in Oakland's favor so I didn't play Green Bay or Oakland because of the conflict.

This week, I have Green Bay -6 (trending down) and Oakland -3.75(trending up).

I'm taking him.

I pretty much just guess.

I pick the same teams. When Seattle is on a roll into the playoffs, why wouldn't you pick them? You know they're probably going to cover 3 out of 4 times.

Russell Wilson is playing ridiculous. That is a team I hope Arizona can avoid in the playoffs.

Congrats Nero! The two payment options are "E-Check" or "Credit Card", which one do you want?
E-Check. I hope to do it again next year. I'm feeling pretty confident I can stay in the 60% range to have a shot at it again.

As an aside, I am loving Houston this week, they are going to beat KC outright. I also feel pretty strong about Washington winning at home.

You should please join us in the Wagering Thread.

Congrats. what changed from last year? You were +9 from 2014.

I was -7, last year I put in maybe 10 minutes, maybe occasionally 15 minutes per week, this year maybe 1-2 minutes max.
not sure. some was better luck, and some was probably due to looking for line movements later in the week. also, when you are near the top, it's easier to stay more involved week after week.

yeah, nice job you 2. hardest thing with some of these contests is staying on top once you get there and you both were on top for a majority of the season

just seeing how i would have stacked up.. i won one with a 49-33-3, doesnt look like that is good enough here

Approval sent. Congrats.

Still need a couple more.

(Odd that you can't approve the payout just by logging into website, you have to follow link from email.)

Details? In
$100 entry.

Pick 5 NFL games against the spread every week. Person with most wins at end of season, wins.

Last year 2nd place won $200, winner took the rest.

Last year Nero won by hitting 63% of his picks.

These are the default rules on CBS.  Don't think I could change them if I wanted.

Pool includes all pro games.
• Ties are left as tie games.
• Players who do not make picks, will receive 0 points for the week.
Deadline:         • All Games will lock one hour before the scheduled start of the day's first game. For example, if there is a Thursday night game and a member did not make a selection, they would still be able to make selections for the remaining games. Please note - pool member's selections will only be displayed in the 'View All' picks section for games that have locked.
