NFL draft - 1st rd moved to Fri night? (1 Viewer)

I heard on a local sports talk station that the NFL draft (1st and/or 2nd round only) was moved to Friday night. The sites that I checked has it listed as Sat 4/26 & Sun 4/27. The hosts said it was just announced and will try to take advantage of making it a Fri night happy hour event.

I can't find a link to confirm but this isn't good if true. Any others hear this?

I know a couple of months ago they announced that they were moving the draft from 12 to 3pm on Saturday. They were doing Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday and Rounds 3-7 on Sunday. They also announced they were making Round One 10 minutes instead of 15.

I heard nothing about a Friday move although I think it would be interesting.

There was mention of it going to Friday night in the future so it would be in prime time. Not sure where they are at with this, but I dont think it will be happening this year. IMO a Friday night draft would hurt ratings, diehard fans love having draft parties on Saturday so it might kill some interest.With a later start I wonder if they will check the Jets fans for a how much booze they have drank before they let them in the door.

The show hosts added that it would start in 08'. I assume that means this April and not after the 08 season.
