NFL Game Rewind - are you missing out (2 Viewers)

hating the new version. not nearly as functional. cant search for players or plays.
I agree that it's stupid they'd take a step backward in functionality, but I'm not finding it that hard to skim the full play-by-play for specific guys.

The new version seems much faster and is a better player. However it did loose the search option. It does however have all of the plays listed on the right side and you can quick click to them. They also added watching 4 games at 1 time now.

its certainly doable, but its a comparative hassle. before, if you searched a player name, it would just run thru all of his plays one after another with no more user input. or, you could click on which play you wanted to watch, and since the results were in the link it was easy to find what you wanted.

Man, it sounds like it's been downgraded. I haven't picked it up this year (was going to grab it after Sunday's games).

Is it still worth the $40, guys??

also, there used to be a bar graph type thing on the bottom of the screen, with a bar for each play of the game that you could click on, and the big plays were conspicuously displayed.

I think it's well worth the money. Still a poor move to take a step backwards on functionality, but we're not talking about a ton of money. I think it comes down to if you have time to use it or not.

Response to another email I sent yesterday:

Greetings,Thank you for the NFL Game Rewind product feedback. We've forwarded your note along to the NFL Game Rewind Product Team; they appreciate all suggestions and will be releasing a new version of the player soon with some enhancements emanating directly from user feedback such as this.Best regards,NFL Game Rewind Support
Crossing my fingers for the return of the search function.

i emailed about the search and the bar graph

"Greetings,

Thank you for the NFL Game Rewind product feedback.

That function is not available this year in the NFL Game Rewind.

Done.Sooo one email says they're releasing a new version soon, but in another email soon probably does not mean this year? WTF!?

Either that or they're releasing another version, but are neglecting a fan favorite feature once again. The NFL is so clownshoes in some aspects.

the email to me says they are both releasing a new version and that that functionality is not available this yr. wouldnt be surprised either way.

Wow glad I saw this thread. I had it last year and was going to get it this year specifically for the search function on a player. Was an awesome way to scout. Now I won't be getting it.

My biggest complaint so far is that you can't watch the 1:00 and 4:00 games while the Sunday Night game is going. You might be out all day, you get in and want to catch up...can't access it until almost midnight out here on the East Coast...that's kind of lame and not sure why they won't start access earlier.

Seriously? It takes about 5 seconds to just run through plays on the right side and skim for your player. I love the feature, didn't have it last year.

I assume their thinking is that if you're watching an old game on your computer then you're not watching the live SNF game, which they don't want.

Explain please, 1st year I have it.
If you click on plays, then it will bring up the game logs on the right side of the screen. Just look through for the player you want's name. I did it for Antonio Brown last week and it was pretty simple.

the best way is to have the play by play open in another window so you can search for your player and then know exactly when they got their touches. regardless, its far more labor intensive than last year and a senseless step back in functionality.

simple - they want you to watch the Sunday Night game . . .

What other constraints are there in terms of access? Can you watch the other 1 or 4 PM games simultaneously? Are you similarly barred from watching 1 PM games while the 4 PM games are on? Or is this just a SNF thing?

When the NBC game is over hen you can start watching the games. 4 PM games...no access to the 1 PM games that I have seen.

That is a lot of money Don but you can see all 256 NFL games and you are so far ahead of us that you likely can start accessing them at a reasonable time plus you can look at all the players and see what is actually happening in the games. Replay certain players or specific plays to study. Might be worth it out there in Scottyland

Ahhhh didn't know about the "plays" feature as I had not renewed this year after reading that they disabled the search feature. I was under the impression I'd have to watch the whole game to analyze targets etc.. As long as that's there then it is useful for scouting a player. Thanks for mentioning this. I will renew!

I was flipping thru McGahee's runs this past weekend and I must say you learn a lot in a short period of time. You can watch every run in about 5 minutes if you keep the plays scroll going. It allows you to start about 5 seconds before each play begins, I love this and think for $40 it's a good bargain. I heard there is a promo code but I couldn't find it so maybe you can get it for $30-$35, not sure where that promo code is hiding.

I got $10 off of the regular season game pass when I purchased the preseason game pass. Maybe that's what you're thinking about? I was out a total of $50 for both for the year. Very well worth it after dropping cable completely, saving me $50 a month!

Is anyone else having issues with the 2011 week 2 Dallas @ San Francisco game? The game is skipping ahead from midway through the 4th quarter to the overtime for a few seconds and back again and there is some sort of video bleeding or something going on. I haven't had this problem with any other games, just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I would very much appreciate it if the die hard tape junkies could post any interesting observations that you see from watching the games. If it looks like a player is "stepping up" (to use that cliche) and getting more snaps, targets, etc. - please feel free to post your observations!

I was impressed with McGahee's ability to run at 9 and 10 man fronts up the gut. I was vocal about him being a not so good option but the tape doesn't lie. He had some real nice blocks from his FB to help spring him as well. Point is he fits John Fox's system better than Moreno. Also like what I saw form Lance Ball.

Faust, since you put together such a great training camp/preseason thread I'll answer any specific questions you have as best I can, so feel free to ask about any player. I watch every game, I obviously don't see everything, and I'm not always right, but I try to focus. So a few observations...-Beanie Wells is not a complete back. He struggles in pass protection both in terms of seeing things and in terms of blocking effort. He doesn't look particularly explosive or quick, same old Beanie now with more opportunity.-Ryan Mathews looks quick, decisive, and powerful. Best I've ever seen him through 2 games and he's catching the ball well. I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit some big plays as the season progresses. Playing on a different level this season for sure, good vision.-Ed Dickson appears to be heavily involved in Baltimore's gameplan. He seems to always be in the game and appears to be in really good shape too. They try to get him the ball in different ways, even quick screens out wide. I think his targets will remain consistent, it's just a matter of what he does with the ball and he appears capable of being a solid player.-Michael Turner seems to have lost most of his speed. He gets lots of carries, but he's not explosive and gets chased down too easily when he does have a hole to run through.-Jerome Simpson has been getting a lot of passes thrown his way, but despite his huge hands he is dropping the ball a bit too much for my liking.-Joseph Addai looks quick and decisive, good player running well in a bad situation.-Frank Gore doesn't look as quick as he use to and San Francisco's line is probably best suited for a back that can just hit the hole and explode. The offensive style that the 49ers use is a bit outdated (conservative) for today's game because even though they are a physical team they are not dominant and the only speed advantages that they do have are at TE with Davis and Walker. SF is predictable with their runs, so teams can load the box and Gore isn't making enough people miss. This negates the strength advantages that they do have and keeps their running game tame.-Ted Ginn's hands are not natural enough to be great in the traditional wr sense, although he's a game changer given the ball in the right situations still, special teams, occasional reverse type stuff. -Javon Ringer looked quick and fresh in week 2, running strong and decisive. Unlike CJ2K who just seems unsure when to cut upfield. His hesitance may lead to him taking more hits than he can handle, which is pure speculation on my part. I wouldn't say that he's lost speed, but his vision seems rusty which has negated his best attribute obviously.-Roy Helu looked very quick and shifty and ran with power. Hightower has looked good at times too, but Helu really seemed hard to stop against the Cardinals, consistently making people miss and catching the ball well.-Brandon Browner (Seahawks starting CB) has played poorly. I expect teams to really target him on a weekly basis. I think that if he's on Early Doucet this week he's going to be in trouble. Doucet has looked fast, has good hands, and physically looks more cut than I've ever seen him.

Has everyone noticed the new "condensed" game option. If it was there before I did not.

Gonna use it for the first time today but bascially once you launch a game and hover to bring up the controls you can click the condensed button (bottom rhs) and get a 30min version of every game

Now having used the feature I can say its great for getting a feel for all the players/games without need 16x2hrs during non bye weeks!

Its basically every play without slow mos or any pause in between - nothing presnap really.

The only downside is its quite intense and makes me feel like I took a caffeine injection :excited:

How useful is the coaches film? Looks like they have a "Plus" package for 69.99 that includes coaches film of every play (along with the post season). Compared to 39.99 for just the regular season and limited coaches film.

Game Rewind is now able to accessed from the NFL Now App. This is a smoking deal with this addition. It's on the Xbox One (not sure about PS4). This is so easy to watch on your TV if you have a gaming console. I haven't put the app on my phone yet, but i would assume it's there too. Can someone verify that?

When I had it before, I was having to connect the PC to the TV. Not a big deal for my setup, but I know it's a pain to many. Now, if you have the Xbox, you just click the Rewind Tab and watch all the games, with coaches film.

It's only $40, and now that it's on your console (or phone) it's really easy and cheap to see all your fantasy players.

Just thought I'd update the thread for anyone on the fence about picking up Rewind.

Thanks for the update, I am definitely in for this NFL Game Rewind now! Been thinking of getting this since ages. $40 is a good enough bargain, I should think. Just recently discovered that NFL has a couple of online football games as well, such as this one called Heroes & Rivals .. Does anyone know of any such similar games which can be played on Android phones?

the NFL throws us season ticket holders a bone and gives us this service for free (the last 2 years they have).... we get the coaches film too. I wish i had the free time to actually use this and evaluate players

August 1st I think. This year it's changing to Game Pass and includes live pre-season games.

This is one of the things the NFL does right. It's such a great deal. It's so easy to watch on your TV these days, too. Control it with your tablet or laptop and watch it on the big screen. I think it's actually called "GamePass" now, and supposedly it work on Apple TV, too.

One more thing, if you own an Xbox One, you can watch Rewind using the NFL App. It's the easiest ####### thing in the world.

When can you start replaying the games? How many hours after they are over?

When can you start replaying the games? How many hours after they are over?
It can vary. Typically the base (full game view) goes up w/n an hour. The compressed game cut-up takes anywhere from 1-4 hours. Most of the time I'd just watch 1 full game, then start scanning through to see which compressed games are already loaded in and watch those next. The sync'ing of the Play-by-Play can take up to a day, which is when it gets REALLY useful as a scouting/evaluation tool! You can just scan through every play that a guy you're looking at is in on and roll through them.

What I want to know is what happened to the separate "NFL Preseason Live" pass? Man, that was the best of all worlds. I'd buy that for ~$25 (I think), watch every snap of the preseason to get a feel for scheme, usage, effectiveness of passing / running games of the teams. Then activate a trial of the Game Pass after week 1 and get week 1 and 2's games for free. Bleh, apparently the NFL didn't like that pattern, looks like there's nothing but the full game pass for $100 this year?? Anyone got any deals for it? Someone mentioned season ticket holders getting it for free? How did that work? A code? Or does your NFL login just somehow verify you're a season ticket holder? Is that working again this year?

Wow, good to know. So theoretically you could be watching a full 1 EST start game at 5 EST, and when that's over, watch a lot of condensed games. When that's over, catch up to the Sunday night game on DVR. I might have to rethink my Sunday routine!

Nope. I had a chat yesterday with NFL.com subscription services. What a waste of time. Worst ####### customer service ever. In a nutshell, the NFL could give a ####. I won't be paying $99 for what I used to pay $30 for.

And when I say the worst CS ever I mean the worst. It's like "Rod" just got done cleaning the ####ters and moved over to CS to end his day.
