**NFL in Berlin - Falcons at Colts**(-6.5, 48.5) 9:30am (2 Viewers)

I think losing Buckner is a much bigger deal for the Colts than people expected. He wasn’t producing huge FF stats, but RL football he’s a critical part of their defense.

After six years or so of IDP I can tell you much more about defenses and also that IDP is sorta . . . inaccurate.

It tracks much less than offensive fantasy, IMO. Which isn't even tracking anymore, really. It's really getting divorced.

eta* if you read it before the edit; I needed to put that differently because that's an inaccurate way to describe IDP and also too negative. I wish the talent tracked better, but the best players impact so much more than stat sheets.

Perhaps it's because we don't even bother trying to quantify the o lines.

Yeah, I caught your meaning. It would be nice if DE’s were credited for QB hits and pressures and not just sacks and tackles.

If your DE gets double teamed & another DE gets the sack because of it, it should be points for the dude who drew the double, that sort of thing.

I agree that IDP doesn’t fairly reward the players for their efforts.

We do QB hits, but this quote is the big one. That and good corners who never get thrown at. Those two things are just removing the biggest part of the modern game. Rush and coverage.

We're tackle-heavy, too, and it's almost like you're lousy (if not an LB or box S) if you make a ton of tackles that aren't for losses. Like, great, someone got beat in coverage and a dude caught the ball on an LB or CB or S that's bad in coverage and we give the bad coverage guy points for the tackle.

Should just feed JT all day.
I don't have him on a roster this year I'm sad to post but I love what he's been able to do in this offense and make others like Jones and Warren look like natural fits around him or with him in this offense. Jones-JT-Pittman-Pierce-Warren...they have a rock solid offense, could be slightly more dynamic at WR but collectively this offense is total PRO. It's delightful to watch this OL block both run and pass

Falcons were pumped up for that 3rd and long, the Colts thought they could sneak in a run and get close for the 4th down
Instead the Falcons snuff that out and were celebrating when they were making the tackle

I would have preferred a pass to Warren or Pittman to try and convert
Colts miss the 53 yd FG and I was going to post that 27-7 Colts at Half would not surprise me, neither will 17-16 Falcons as they manage to get the ball close to midfield for Penix/Offense

Yep - like a WR catching a pass for a loss of 3 is still +.7 for the WR. But a DB who shuts out an opposing WR typically gets 0 for the game.

If anyone wonders why the Lions went for it on 4th and 2 instead of trying a 50+ yard FG against the 49ers in the NFC championship game, you just saw why (Badgley was the kicker). He sucks.

Need moar coaches dialing up corner blitzes.

Love those.

And of course after burning the timeout like a 2 year old upset things are not working, no gain on 3rd down, basically took a sack for no loss and then they PUNT
You are what your record says you are Atlanta - 3W, 5L

My Colts -6.5 hates “money badger” right now.

I sat him in 2 leagues because of the London game. If they’re playing at home he probably nails all of his kicks.

I just made the stinkface for you. Ugh. Feeling empathetic this morning. He's never been really good and this is on the Colts. Even when he was like the darling for a while, the dude had no range. None. They didn't have him try even 51 or so often (I want to say at all, but absolutes bite my ***). It was under 50 and the game was already moving four or five yards out past that for feasibility and quality.

Now with the K balls or whatever they're doing; it had better be 57-60 for about a 35-40% chance.
