Couple gems the last few years but yeah; overall it’s been kinda meh. Lot of dudes expected to be studs either hurt or play in a rotation. Like, HOU nuked the value of E.J. Speed & Al Shaair by bringing in the former at the expense of the latter.

Last true impact LB I drafted was Henley, and then the next year LAC drafted another LB. It worked out fine for Henley, but had me sweating for a min.

With the way offense is now, staying home and holding your lane is a massive part of being LB now. They can't just take off at WLB and chase. So much misdeirection. The tackles feel like they are more evenly distributed among the defense. No idea if that is true, but feels that way.

And the position is harder than ever. And maybe we have had a drought. Happened with TE, and we just had a few exciting prospects come out.

You know it better than I, but I've been shocked to watch the decline even over the short period of time I've paid attention to it. It's been sort of strange because I came of age in that Penn State era (?), you know? That was always overblown (Shane Conlan!) but it was a marquee position and then it changed.

If I might digress a bit into fantasy; I won't waste dynasty draft capital on linebackers anymore. I just decided not to. It could bite me, but man, I've gotten Devin White and Dodson and a couple of others and it's like . . . rolling right now. I think those guys might lose the dot (White) but I was spending second-round picks on these guys and they were either getting moved to EDGE (I lost my favorite, Frankie Luvu to EDGE this year and I just let him go, which is probably bad business, but I'm not looking back) if they were good, and therefore they're not startable in my league, or they were flaming out like Jamin Davis (I blame Ron Rivera for that valuation). I can't even look at dynasty rankings because they're useless at the most important IDP anchor position now. I wrote this long grievance in the IDP thread this year. It's funny (I'd like to think it was—I had been up for like 36 hours for some reason).

I drafted Micah Parsons, Jamin, and Owusu-Koromoah all one year in the second round to build a "dynasty," and if you know what happened, then you know how that worked out. I mean, Micah, yeah, but he was an LB in tackle-heavy for two or three years and you couldn't really use him because our sacks were depressed. So you have journeyman Jamin and an awful injury to an Afrocentric guy who wants clean African water (totally noble, if you ask me—and go for it) and they don't even really know where he is (?!) anymore. There's no update. I traded him for a draft pick so I could pick Bill (JCM) in May.

eta* like this is the first edit. Heh. They might move Willie "Turbo" Gay to EDGE in Miami. He'll be useless for IDP while he's all over the field the next few weeks. He can't play MLB. Spagnuolo preferred Drue Tranquill and Nick Bolton. Those guys can't sniff Gay's athleticism. I'll check RAS. I'm pretty sure I'm right here. Neither can Brooks or Dodson, but Gay can't get on the field over those guys. Different requirements these days.

I forget which game it was (because unfortunately have seen a lot of bad offensive games this year) but there was one earlier this year where you could just tell Warner was just like in his head "let me down on the field and I'll run circles around these yahoos!" Feel like it may have been one of the Jets games :bag: (or could have been Jacksonville.)
 
Strip Sack in the 1st Q put the Falcons down hard
Strip Sack in the 3rd Q puts the Falcons in the driver seat now up 17-13 with a chance to open this lead up to a 2-score football game
Lot has changed since it was 13-7 Colts, the Badgley misses have had a very negative impact on the Colts overall today
 
So if the Colts wind up getting smoked in the first round of the playoffs, what do you do next spring? I mean, he got you to the playoffs, right?
 
a little too much hate on Jones I think. But that was certainly a poor decision with the way the play developed, should have just turtled and taken the 6 yard loss

I think they're all in right now. But you can't hide a guy forever and he hasn't even had his yearly injury yet. This is trepidation here.

Find yourself someone who loves you as much as Danny 10-Pennies loves to fumble while being sacked.

That’s his 2nd today, he just managed to not lose the 1st.
 
I'd like to ask Kurt Warner how the Falcons were able to "take advantage" of the Colts turnover on the strip sack, they go 3 n out and punt at midfield
@Joe Bryant this is exactly what I was talking about when you applauded Kurt Warner in the last Euro NFL thread, that's the only place he gets to practice and call games
You don't see CBS or FOX trying to lure him onto the booth on their networks

You don't take advantage by simply creating a turnover, that's just part one of the process
How about Kurt Warner LAY INTO the Falcons for 2 drives at about midfield, BOTH OF THEM are 3 N OUT!

That's why he stinks, he's slowwww to criticize what he's watching and says things that do not relate...he tried to lay into Coach Raheem before halftime, he was WAY OFF
On the JT TD in the 1st Q, he was discussing some private exchange he had with someone that nobody cares about

The play by pay guy today should really be a sommelier, I feel like I'm being read the choices on a red wine menu, Merlot, Cab and Pinot Noir section
But I respect why you love Kurt Warner and his entire story, i love him too. I just don't think he does well in an NFL booth

he also fumbled running to the sideline but it went out of bounds
