Is there any way to put the number of injuries thus far in 2011 into a historical context?
The reason I ask is that my gut feeling is that the shortened off-season (no OTAs, less training camp, etc.) will result in more injuries, which could affect how to shape your roster. That is, perhaps this year in particular will be one that rewards deeper teams as opposed to those built to have the best starting roster? I've read others post my sentiment in the context of players that get hurt after missing training camp due to contract hold-outs but I'm not sure if this point has ever been actually validated with data.
