i posted this in another thread, but this is a great sunday morning listen. ny based show, but a real national tilt.

very good listen.

fyi a great sunday morning listen is www.wfan.com mike francesa has been doing the nfl now show for around 20 years.

they stream it live on the website. injury reports, local reports, etc.

but a real national tilt.
Should be okay this year - since the Yankees aren't making the playoffs - but he's the first to hijack his own show to talk about them. He might do a little Mets if they make the playoffs, but he's a Yankees fan. Sometimes he waits til the local hour (11 am).

This guy is the most pompus, self interested know nothing blow hard in sports talk.
agree....but its worf the listen for stevey cohen and the injury report.
does he still do the report? i don't remember it last year and Mike hasn't promo'd it. Used to do it around this time and the next segment is callers. Did I miss it earlier this morning?btw, francesca roots for parcells' teams, so will probably be a dolphins fan now.

he's a tough listen when his parcells love kicks in, but its better then watching taped national shows from wednesday. i thought cohen still does his thing, but i moved out of ny and didnt listen alot last year. was a good spot. let's see.............

two minute drill call segment next. i predict ira (jets), ralph (colts) and kenny (vikings). i'm going out now -- let me know if i was close.

Every local radio show has its own local focus, but when I listen to New York guys like Francesa I'm always reminded of this.

agree....but its worth the listen for stevey cohen and the injury report.
Mike's very well connected and WFAN has a ton of pull. Their guests are better than any sports station by far.He had a couple TV shows on CBS (maybe one NBC or FOX and other CBS...whatever) that failed. He has definitely had his moments where he seems like he's not up to date on things at all. I never understood that. He's quite knowledgable other times. Buddies of mine think he stops doing research when his head gets big, eats some crow and then does his research again. I'm not sure if I agree or disagree, maybe he just has bad days. I definitely know what ya mean Rovers but he's worth wading thru the muddy waters IMO.

"NFL In Action" hops game to game getting updates all over. For radio game updates, it's excellent.

It runs from noon til late in the evening or some other game...whichever comes first of course.

His Sunday morning show is listenable... but I simply cannot bring myself to listen to his weekly show.... ever. I've heard him treat callers who had solid points like they are imbeciles... and that is where my dislike for him comes from, mostly. It's just that he thinks he's the world's greatest radio sports talk personality... and that sort of big headed smugness is difficult to swallow. His ego is as big as his stomache... maybe if he ate less and lost 150 pounds he would be able to walk.... one would think if he were so smart, after his thrid knee replacement he'd figure out that being a 340 pound fatso isn't any way to go through life. It doesn't help that he hates the Mets and Jets.... and is as biased as they come.

His arrogance is too much to take. And besides, he doesn't keep up enough with the NFL for me to take him seriously.
