Although over/under selections and prop bets are a lot more fun when you have money on the line, most sports books don’t offer many customized bets that aren’t focused on weekly results (never mind fantasy ones). And that, boys and girls, is where this whole game/contest/circle jerk comes in.
Each week, anyone who signs up will be able to pick a variety of over/under situations and prop bets -- focused primarily (but not entirely) on fantasy football.
True, you won’t win any actual money, but you also won’t lose any either. I’m sure we could come up with something fun for the winner. I for one pledge to buy whoever wins a subscription to whatever sports/football magazine of their choosing that’s NOT named Pro Football Weekly (which is unfortunately, a small fortune). It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing, right?
Before we get to the Week 1 questions, we need to get some rules out of the way first. One, if you want to participate, you need to reply in a somewhat orderly format. By that I mean you need to number your answers to match the questions. That shouldn’t be an issue for those of us who finished the second grade.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the fantasy questions, a fairly default scoring system will be used:
QBs: 1 point per 20 passing yards, 4 points per TD, -1 points for interceptions
RBs: 1 point per ten rushing/receiving yards, 6 points per TD
WRs/TEs: 1 points per ten receiving yards, 6 points per TD
ALL: -1 points for fumbles lost, 2 points per two point conversion
There are NO points per reception
DEF: 6 points per defensive unit TD, 1 point per sack, 2 points per interception and fumble recovery
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for your answers, every successful answer will net you 1 point. A correct bonus question will net you 3. All entries can be edited up to 1 hour BEFORE the first game of the week. Anything after that will be voided. I’ll wade through the answers and tally up the standings at some point during the week, but definitely BEFORE Friday at least. I have a lot of other stuff going on and don’t want to make any promises that I can’t keep, but I can promise they’ll definitely be up sometime before Friday afternoon/evening. So there’s that.
Rules and necessities aside, are we ready? Stop breathing so hard – you’ll be fine.

BONUS: Which teams offense will score the LEAST amount of actual game points in Week 1?
Since we have early season opening game this week, all edits to the answers in your posts need to be FINISHED by 6:00PM EST on Thursday night. Should anything substantial happen, such as one of the answers to a question breaking his leg, you’ll obviously be allowed to change your answer -- I’m not that strict.
Good luck!
PS: You can put what you'd like your entry name to be at the top of your replies so I'll know what to use. If not, I'll just use your user name. Also, everyone is welcome to participate. The only person excluded is me, since I would have the advantage asking the questions and all -- plus, I wouldn't really want to buy myself the prize. Sort of anti-climactic, I think.
