NFL Standings (1 Viewer)

... so after week 11, I'm checking out the standings, looking at the wildcard contenders and such....

and I notice the stat "net points". This is the difference + or - in points scored vs. points given up.

Titans are a wildcard contender with a +12, the Browns are also in the race with a -6.

Good teams like the Steelers and Colts are at +124 and +119 respectivly.

The best teams in the NFC are the Cowboys at +106 and the Packers +100.

.

After 10 games the Patriots are at +254.

To put this into perspective... 26 of the other 31 teams haven't even scored 254 points for the season.

The Green Bay Packers are one of those 5 remaining teams, but even they would have had to shut out every team they have faced this season to have acheaved a +259.

We seem to be witnessing a domination of the league that has never been seen and may never be seen again.

Here's how the teams would be ranked if Net Points were the second most important criterion after win-loss:

1. 10-0 New England +254

2. 9-1 Dallas +106

3. 9-1 Green Bay +100

4. 8-2 Indianapolis +119

5. 7-3 Pittsburgh +124

6. 7-3 NY Giants +36

7. 7-3 Jacksonville +26

8. 6-4 Seattle +57

9. 6-4 Tampa Bay +44

10. 6-4 Tennessee +12

11. 6-4 Detroit -1

12. 6-4 Cleveland -6

13. 5-5 San Diego +20

14. 5-5 Philadelphia +19

15. 5-5 Arizona +1

16. 5-5 Houston -10

17. 5-5 Washington -21

18. 5-5 Buffalo -68

19. 5-5 Denver -71

20. 4-6 Minnesota -15

21. 4-6 Chicago -33

22. 4-6 New Orleans -34

23. 4-6 Kansas City -41

24. 4-6 Baltimore -43

25. 4-6 Carolina -45

26. 3-7 Cincinnati -40

27. 3-7 Atlanta -71

28. 2-8 Oakland -43

29. 2-8 NY Jets -66

30. 2-8 St. Louis -108

31. 2-8 San Francisco -110
