NFL Turning Point on Versus Channel (1 Viewer)

If anyone has time on Thurs evenings, check out "NFL Turning Point" on the Versus channel. I had no idea it existed. It's put out by NBCsports (and maybe NFL Films presents, since the narrator sounds like it), I guess NBC owns Versus now. Never thought to check out Versus for NFL shows. Great weekly recap, they do a 10 to 15 min segment on a few games from the league with lot of sound bites, player stories and offensive/defensive schemes, etc.

I stumbled on a portion of the show this week and they went over the Lions/49ers game (what caught my attention :P ) and you really get to hear just how energetic Harbaugh is, and how it came out in the Schartz encounter. Also see him giving props to the def and a blushing Alice Smith. The show went over the Bengals game, and talked about the relationship developing between AJ Green and Andy Dalton, and how much Dalton makes it a point to get his top target involved. Even shows a cool side by side video of the TD they had in the game, and earlier vid of them practicing that exact same play. Really showed some insight on Dalton too, this guy is a vocal leader out there, very confident.

One of the last segments was the Pats/Cowboys game, and they talked about the restrained blitz defensive schemes that both blitz minded Rex and Rob Ryan use effectively against Brady. And how Rob only blitzed 5 times that game but those were the moments when Brady had success. Another cool sound bite was when BB called a time out right before the last score to put NE ahead, you hear him switch a double on Ware because O-Lineman Matt Light was hurt during the QB sneak before, so you hear him making safety precautions to get Light some help.

Anyways, that just some examples of this pretty cool weekly recap show that Dan Patrick hosts if people didn't know about. I'm definitely going to look out for it going forward.

Here's a link I found about it.

Love this show, watch it every week. I can't get enough of NFL sideline footage, mic'd up players, etc. Great stuff.

Interesting. Sounds like the same footing the NFL uses on the Sound Off show. Probably just a couple of the players they Mic up. I wonder if they are the same shows, with a different presentation.

Yea if you watch Sound FX and then watch Turning Point it can be kind of redundant, but each show has things that you won't see on the other.

Awesome. I'll have to check it out!

Decided to check out this show after reading this thread a few weeks ago. I love it. My favorite NFL show now. Thanks for the heads up.

Swell show. I caught it when channel surfing a few weeks back. There are a coupe other non-sports basic cable channels trying their hand at NFL programming of late. Interesting.

I still recall back in the 80s and 90s, I'd have to videotape what very few offseason shows covered football. Usually they were NFL Films highlight reels of past seasons. It took the TV folks a long time to start to satisfy folks' desire for 24/7 NFL coverage. As a TWC cuustomer, I have no NFL Network, so these shows are all very welcome.

Set uur DVR for Turning Point. Swell show.
