NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Recently got an Apple TV, so I'm trying out the NHL GameCenter on my 65" TV for the first time (I bought the online version because I work nights).

MUCH better quality than I expected for an online stream on a big screen.

Watching Avs-Jets now, because the Pats-Bears game is dreadful (and because, unlike the NFL, at least the NHL allows you to buy a package to watch whatever game you want).

Nate Schmidt and Mike Green playing really well together so far.Schmidt broke up a 2 on 1 just a few minutes ago that was a nice play with the Sedin's coming down on him.

Rangers win after losing two of their players to game misconducts and down 3-0 heading into the third. Wilds' goalie hadn't given up more than 2 goals in any game prior to this game.

This is the second time this season the Wild have given up the lead after leading at the end of the 2nd. To do it up 3-0 and lose in regulation. I wonder what type of personality the Wilds' coach has. I've seen a few coaches who would go ape #### on their players after that.

in all seriousness, Kuemper was and will be fine. one soft goal, it happens. went to sleep in the third, but I give a lot of credit to the Rangers. very inspired hockey in that 3rd, they responded very well. didn't really feel like a collapse at all to me. obviously it's brutal to not even get a point but I don't think they just gave it away. play has been coming pretty easy to them, they've controlled every game handily this season...hopefully a reminder that you can't stop working. interested in the response tonight.

sucks to lose Haula, thankfully Brodin and Parise are alright. nice to have depth guys like Zucker than can step into more of a scoring role no problem. still no PP goal, but last night was the first time they struggled to create chances. those will start falling eventually.

Kopitar out for tonight's Kings/Flyers game. Kings are forced to play less one forward because of salary cap and Voynov suspension, they can't call anyone up.

Trotz shaking things up again with the lines in practice.

Ovechkin – Burakovsky – Ward
Johansson – Backstrom – Brouwer
O’Brien – Latta – Wilson
Chimera – Kuznetsov – Beagle/Fehr

Wilson is ready to go and will add some thump for sure.If anything this team is much tougher to play against now which hasn't been the case in a while.

DETROIT (AP) -- Hockey great Gordie Howe has lost some function on the right side of his body after having a stroke Sunday in Texas.Howe's daughter Cathy says the 86-year-old Detroit Red Wings legend has lost much use of his right arm and right leg. Howe suffered the stroke in Lubbock, Texas, where his daughter lives.

Howe's daughter said Tuesday night his speech is slurred, but he's been looking at family pictures and pictures from his playing days, and he's able to recognize and identify people he played with. She said his three sons were on the way there to see him.
