NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Wild are really good. Even when they are sloppy they are really good. Just imagine if the PP or Vanek ever scores, the NHL might just forfeit the season.

I see Cody Sakic is getting 4th line minutes. Wherever you are, Burton, I'm here for you.
he's a mess.

Sabres should probably send Reinhart down too, btw.
Such a tough call. Is another year of dominating juniors really going to do him any good?
living through this mess can't be real good for him either, IMO.

Grigorenko and Larsson should be ready to make the jump from the AHL soon, if not already. Just would rather see him play in all situations as a leader in the WHL than struggle through a year when everybody knows the Sabres are going through the motions and have little incentive to win.

Would be nice to have him come up net year when the team is hopefully ready to start playing for real.

Probably not too much. But playing 10min a game on a #### NHL team isn't much help either. Plus they'll get to keep him on his rookie contract for another year.

Sometimes I wonder if Price is more worried about drawing interference/incidental contact than he is about actually stopping the puck.

Making the drive down I95 tomorrow for Flyers-Panthers. I'm sure that 4,000 of the 5,000 actual bodies in seats will be Flyers fans.

The announced crowd at Thursday’s game was 7,691, just a touch better than the 7,311 from Florida’s previous home game against Ottawa on Oct.13.

The Ottawa crowd was the smallest for a home game in franchise history; Thursday’s was second-smallest.

Sabres' Reinhart returned to junior hockeyFriday, 10.31.2014 / 11:06 AM / News
NHL.comBuffalo Sabres forward Sam Reinhart has been returned to the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League, the Sabres announced Friday.

The Sabres could play Reinhart, the second pick of the 2014 NHL Draft, in nine games before deciding on whether to keep him beyond his 10th game and start the clock on his three-year, entry-level contract, or return him to junior hockey. Reinhart played his ninth game Thursday against the Boston Bruins; the Sabres' next game is Saturday at the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He had one assist, a minus-1 rating and three shots on goal in nine games for the Sabres, and was averaging 10:21 of ice time per game, second-lowest among Sabres forwards.

"I've never seen too many players ruined by sending them back versus keeping them too soon," Sabres coach Ted Nolan said before the decision was announced, according to the Buffalo News.

Reinhart was tied for fifth in the league with 105 points in 60 games last season, and his 36 goals were second on Kootenay. Reinhart also led the Ice with 23 points (six goals, 17 assists) in 13 WHL playoff games.

One of the biggest beneficiaries from Reinhart's return to junior hockey could be Hockey Canada, as Reinhart could play a significant role for Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship in Montreal and Toronto. He had two goals and three assists for Canada at the 2014 WJC.
Pretty sure he would have been going to the World Juniors even if he stayed in Buffalo, but I'm glad the team made this decision. Will be nice to have him and hopefully McDavid/Eichel up next year together. :excited:

Draisaitl and Ekblad the only ones remaining in the NHL from this year's draft (technically Bennett is on the Flames roster but I assume he'll go to Kingston when he's healthy)? Or am I missing anyone?

Wings with a pretty brutal first ten games and they finish 6-2-2. Two of the losses include the no call Getzlaf goal loss and the phantom interference call vs the Habs, essentially costing them three points.

The young guys are seeming like they finally get the Babcock system, and guys like Abdelkader and Sheahan are coming into their own. They still need some blue line help and I think they'll still have patches where they'll struggle to score goals, but I like what I'm seeing thus far.

Wild shellack everyone's favorite cup pretender. Spezza and Hemsky are so good! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Vanek and the PP break through on the same goal, #### is getting real for the rest of the league now.

Can't wait for the cup preview on Tuesday

:kicksrock: Just give the Cup to the Wild now.

Fun game tonight. Felt like a solid workman-like performance for the Wild. Always nice to beat the Stars but 19,088 at the X were pretty tame.

Nice to see 2 PP goals as Brasky mentioned plus Vanek is off the schnide.

Benn with 4 minor penalties including a total cheap shot slash to Zucker's side after he got his pocket picked. Should've been tossed IMO. It's embarrassing to see Captains act like that. Landeskog bugs me the same way.

If only the Huskies had beaten the Gophers for the second straight day it would've been even better. Great hockey in MN right now.

Heading to Dallas next weekend for mom's 75th. Taking her to the game Saturday against the Sharks.

She's a big hockey fan.
