NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Nice to see the Wild, without Suter, dominate Montreal. 2-1 final but it wasn't close. Zucker with a highlight reel 2-degree angle goal in the first 30 seconds of the game.

Wild start at 6 because it's the national game on Sportsnet? gfy, Canada.
Beliveau tribute
Unless the schedule makers predicted his death, that had nothing to do with it. Time was set a while ago. Itw as TV related. There was a short video tribute but the game only started a couple minutes later than it usually would with a 6 start and that was because of a brief puck drop ceremony with 4 US hockey hall of fame inductees.

Marty going to start tomorrow? Kind of want to see that.
Confirmed. He will be in net against Smashville. Was only kidding about Allen last night. Defense was pretty atrocious.
Please don't tell me Allen gets the shaft in STL when Elliot is healthy...
I don't think Marty still has it in him to pull that off. never know though behind that system.
Highly doubt it. Hitchcock and Armstrong have said that Brodeur is a band-aid. I assume Brodeur understands that...but the Blues have some bad ju-ju when it comes to how they handle goalies. Team's been cursed in the goalie department since Keenan ran CuJo out of town.

Don't look now but Chicago is on a 4-game win streak and showing no signs of slowing down.

Rynnas immediately gets the start for Dallas. I'm guessing he has a decent outing and they build a little confidence in front of him and right that ship a bit. Lehtonen has been every bit as much as the problem this year and Rynnas is another big Finn that has some talent.

#### sake Brasky, stop picking up all the goalies! (even if you had them on your roster for weeks, stop it!)

I like your optimism but it's a little early for that. Lol, they're still 3rd in their own division.
They've been the best team in the NHL this year. They're 4 points out of first in the league and playing better than anyone. Best GD in the league too. They dropped a couple of 1-goal games early otherwise they'd be in first overall.

The Leafs are 4 points behind the Blackhawks and lost a couple one goal games otherwise they'd be better than the Hawks?

Highlight reel or blooper reel?
You can't score if you don't shoot. He had an impossible angle and a small window. What's your point? It's not a great goal because it wasn't a clean snipe?
We have very different definitions of highlight reel goal.

Why is Versteeg good again after being awful for several years? Just the difference of playing with Kane?
Saying that knee is fully healed and playing with more confidence. Oh and playing with Kane is probably the correct answer.

Come on...

Dallas is a ### #### disaster. I thought their defense would have stabilized a bit but they've actually looked worse the last few games. positioning everywhere on the ice is so sloppy.

Ducks winger Corey Perry left Friday night's game against the Wild after taking a hip check from Minnesota defenseman Keith Ballard. The hit appeared to hurt Perry's left leg, and the team announced he was doubtful to return.

Just some terrible puck being played by the hometown club these days. Lucky we got that W in Minnesota.
It's really embarrassing, especially with Halak playing so well across the rink AND getting defensive support. Now it's Brodeur's turn to be sacrificed playing behind a lousy defense at the Nassau Coliseum.
