NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (3 Viewers)

big win last night for the Wild. game finally looked good for the first time in a couple weeks.

need more of that from Kuemper, hopefully he's fully healthy now. saved the game on Byfuglien with about a minute left and was solid all night. had some bad breaks over the last month so it's good to see a bounce back because they need it. he's probably feeling the heat a bit too.

not sure what Suter's deal is, must still be feeling the effects of the mumps. he was awful last night and really hasn't been very good since he has come back. that can't continue, especially with Brodin out. Folin playing pretty well though, they need it to keep Prosser/Bickel/Falk off the ice. :X

Why would the Bruins move Lucic?

these talks don't make much sense to me.
because the front office is desperate. Lucic is coveted by many teams and the B's need a goal scoring right winger. I am skeptical that TJ is that but that's the scuttlebutt around here, anyway. The B's need scoring plain and simple and their best prospect now plays in Dallas. Chiarelli is on thehot seat it seems and he probably knows it. He managed to take a team that arguable was the best jn the conference and gutted them like a fish.

Dickie Dunn assured us that the team is better off without Seguin. If moving him forces them to dump Lucic as well, then this team is in complete meltdown mode.

hmmm, also looks like Dallas is 4 points behind Boston in the standings with 2 games in hand.

Physical game. US started ok but Canada has had the better of the play so far. Good forecheck and sustained offensive pressure in the first. Didn't agree with the penalty call.

Finland hosts the next junior championship and they're in danger of missing the playoff round which would mean they wouldn't be invited to the tournament. Lol

They could still get an invite if they win the relegation round, no?

Relegation formatThe two last-placed teams play a best-of-three Relegation Round series. The third game is only played if needed. The winner of the series plays again at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, while loser is relegated to Division I Group A.
doubt they lose to Germany tonight anyway though.

So there is hope.

Am I reading this right,if the Czech's hold on against Russia they would get the 3rd spot in Group B and face the US in the quarters?

So, if the Czechs hold on to beat Russia in regulation, they would move up to #2 in the standings. That would mean US vs Russia in the next round.

no, they would move ahead of Russia on the tiebreaker

right now, Russia has 1 W, and 1 OTW for 5 points.

Czechs have 1 OTW for 2 points so another regulation win would leave them both with 5 points and Czechs would win the H2H tiebreaker.

Swiss were eliminated and sent to relegation. Canada plays Denmark.

Sweden/Finland, USA/Russia, and CZE/SVK should be pretty interesting matchups in the next round.

I trust that you're right but here is where I got my info from

As significant, the Danes won at the top level of the U20 for the first time in their history after 15 straight defeats (six in 2008 and 2012, and three more to start this year).

And now, they must wait and hope for favourable results tomorrow to see if they will advance to the quarter-finals. Russia must beat the Czechs tomorrow (in regulation or overtime) and Sweden must beat Switzerland in regulation. If these happen, the Danes are off to their first U20 playoff. If not, they will be back in the Relegation Roundhttp://www.worldjunior2015.com/en/news/sui-den/

You see how that may have been confusing though right given the info on the site I posted?

I see now they have the Swiss eliminated so it may have just been an error in the writeup.I thought you were right.

I would say Detroit's future looks pretty good with Tatar, Nyquist, Mrasek, the young D. And then add in Larkin, Mantha....
