Myers is the best player in the deal. Just feels like a ton to give up for 2 guys. Hope I'm wrong.

Myers is still underrated imo. Bogosian hasn't really developed. Would have rather gotten Fowler from the Ducks to add offense.

If they somehow land McDavid in the draft a great start is with Evander Kane on his wing for sure.

Bogosian still hasn't peaked but he clearly isn't just some throw in.He will fit in fine with the skills he has.

Yea, I'd feel a lot better if Lemieux not involved. Murray's plan has been to acquire prospects & turn them for young NHL talent. Good haul for Winnipeg knowing Kane situation.

He seems to me to be more of a 3rd/4th line guy over a top 6.Has his game improved that much lately?

Great - so the teams in the Central get stronger. They should just form their own league.

Kane was a big kid who never played big - especially as the Jets were improving. I think Jets are better now and the 1st may make them better in the future.

Talking to my guys, they're all in love with the deal. The three of them agree that Bogosian is already better than Tyler Myers.

Take the Buff 1st, and stock pile, and expand by trading Myers for any of the deals that were rumoured with Buff

Winnipeg is going for the playoffs. Pretty clear.

I don't think they flip him. He's a huge get for them and gives them a shutdown defenseman to build around.

Never been a huge hockey fan but it's starting to catch on in Nashville. I may be one, yet.

I've only ever watched at Bridgestone, but I think it's a pretty awesome hockey venue.There can be some sparse nights, but I've found more often than not it is absolutely electric.

Been going to a few games a year since college. If this is what Laviolette is going to bring to the team for multiple seasons, I'm pretty certain we'll be season ticket holders next year.

It's exciting to have a good pro team in town.

I knew he went to Carolina but I admittedly know nothing about Carolina other than that they're not much better than the Sabres, points-wise. Looks like he had a good year last year. I like hockey and I follow it enough to "make me dangerous" and have an idea of what I'm talking about, but I don't follow the overall sport nearly as much when the Sabres are so bad.

That said, I'm amazed at all of these people locally who are apparently experts on the career of Zach Bogosian. It's like everyone in my office here watches Winnipeg games every night. I know Evander Kane and the type of player he is, and I know a tiny bit about Bogosian, but I have no point of reference as to whether he's way better or way worse or equal to Tyler Myers. I get the feeling some people (not you) are exaggerating their hockey following.

Of course all of this could change by year's end. I just don't necessarily agree that it will make that much of a difference in the end.

it's not a great article. I posted it without comment but disagree with a few of the points they made.

For me, it's mainly an issue of fairness. Games that go to OT shouldn't be worth 3 points while other games that end in regulation are only worth 2 points.

Also, I believe adding incentive for a regulation win would make the games more exciting.

There is a lot more going on in that dressing room and elsewhere with those two guys than has ever been mentioned in the media. Since I doubt very much both of them will ever come close to straightening out, I think this is a slam dunk win for the Jets. The Jets are at worst even for the remainder of the season and on top of it, get three prime prospects to continue to build around.

Good trade for both teams I think. Myers and ZB are relatively equal. Myers may have more offense but ZB plays more physical. So it comes down to Kane for Stafford, a late 1st and two prospects. The gamble for Buff is if Kane can be a consistent 30 goal scorer. If he becomes that I wouldn't worry about the loss of a couple prospects and a late 1st rnd pick. He and Reinhart could be a great combo for years to come. Winn got what they needed in immediate help for a playoff push and some futures.
