NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Pens fans taking over the steps of the Portrait Gallery after every win IN Washington never gets old. Was at the game there when Gonch had a big game and they won their first division title with Sid on the team.

They had the steps roped off tonight and Pens fans still gathered there to celebrate the win. Love it. Fun rivalry. Would be a great, great first rd matchup.

Keep reaching maybe he has some magic genie lamp that will make him an actual power forward
maybe

Here was his scouting report from hockeys future:

Talent AnalysisWilson projects as a power forward with some potential for offensive contributions. At 6'4 and 200 pounds, Wilson already has good size, and he isn't afraid to make use of his size advantage. And there is room for him to add some muscle to his frame. Wilson's skating is adequate, good enough for him to cause some havoc in the offensive zone. While his offensive skills were a big question mark moving forward from his draft date, Wilson put together a tremendous 2012-13 with Plymouth where he had over a point per game. As he continues to develop those assets his stock will only rise.

FutureWilson is slowly rising to prominence in the Capitals system, and his continued development is on a very positive arch. He completely blew away expectations in his third season of junior hockey and is inching his way towards looking like a potential long-term top-six power forward in the NHL. With a good training camp or early season showing Wilson could even be considered for the NHL as early as 2013-14.
here's another one:

A big body that loves to play physical and does it well. Wilson is only an average skater, but excels when it comes to initiating physical plays, working hard and back checking. Power forward with some offensive skills. Will drop the gloves. (EP 2012)

Rinaldo is a pretty terrible comparison. Rinaldo is much smaller, and has almost no offensive skills whatsoever.

if he skates like he is in mud, how was he able to deliver two hits in the same shift? pretty impressive really.

This is pretty cool. Henrik Samuelsson is making his NHL debut tonight for the Yotes at MSG, where his old man Ulf will be working behind the home bench.

Tim Wilson, tom Wilson of the caps whatever the idiots name is looks like another zac Rinaldo. Just garbage, skates like he is in mud
He was a 1st round pick. 16th overall. Tough kid and future power forward.
The 13 point plus/minus -3 tom Rinaldo i mean wilson taking runs at people down 3-1. Piece of crap plain & simple
Good thing the Penguins never took any runs at players while trailing in a game.20yo kids who can knock out full grown men aren't generally expected to pile up points.
It's all great when the Pens had a guy like Matt Cooke skating around hitting people left and right, but once you're on the other end, it's not OK.

I love Wilson. Kid plays with fire. He's not going to be a 30 goal scorer, but he's a big 20 year old kid with a lot of potential to get better, who, mostly due to his size and aggression, can justifiy a spot on the active roster. It's that ice time that will put him way above his peers when it comes to experience. There's only a handful of guys getting real ice time who are too young to tip one back at the bar. ALL of these guys are special talents in some way or another just based on the fact that they're playing at such a young age. You don't have to be a goal scorer to make it in the NHL. There are a lot of guys who have had valueable roles without high goal production.

Rangers interested in Bozak per McKenzie.

not sure what they'd send back the other way given his contract/cap hit.

pretty interesting that it's about Patrick Sharp. even I've heard a story about him from a friend that used to live in Chicago a few years ago.

Leafs trade David Clarkson to Blue Jackets for Nathan Horton.

Most people think Horton's career is over. Leafs take on that contract and pay him to do nothing while Columbus takes on the albatross of Clarkson's contract.

And get the LTIR space of course.

It's like the Gomez trade all over again, without the stud d-man.

according to McKenzie, Horton's contract wasn't insured. So, Columbus didn't want to pay him the rest of his 7-year, $37MM deal to do nothing. Now they can pay Clarkson $5.5MM/year for 5 more years to do almost nothing on the ice.Leafs get cap room with the LTIR option and have plenty of cash to give Horton.

How does the league allow players on IR to be traded - I thought that was not allowed?

So mysterious "accidents" start to happen in the parking lots?
