NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Boston homers....

Is Seth Griffith going to stick, and if so, stay with Lucic and Krejci?
Griffith (and Spooner) sent down to Providence today.
wasted a FAAB buck on him.
And now he's back, and apparently skating with Lucic and Krejci again in practice.

Get used to this revolving door, at least for a while. Strange that the "second" (Marchand-Bergeron-Smith) and third (Kelly-Soderberg-Eriksson) lines seem settled, while the top line RW and the fourth line aside from Paille will be a roll of the dice pretty much game to game. Same with that sixth D spot with Miller and Bartkowski (for now).
There's one for you, Parm! I'm a the game tonight ... First NHL goal ties it at 3 in the third.

:towelwave:

Roy makes his own penalty call to get a 5 on 3, Avs score twice. Gerard Gallant might murder a ref by the looks of it. Stay tuned.

:lmao: this game flipped on its head off that one call. I'm sure Gallant will make headlines in his presser, assuming Panthers hockey makes news.

Edit: I didn't see the Boyes high stick call that started the whole thing until now. Total dive, no wonder he blew a gasket.

I just saw the replay on the Panthers feed. Seemed tough to tell, but it might have clipped him in the shield.

Anyone else listen to the MvsW Podcast?

They were talking about Brodeur the other day, relating to the Colorado goalie injuries. Apparently he would never go there because he hates Patrick Roy. Story is for the 1998 Olympics, Roy only agreed to play if he started every game. Brodeur didn't know this and brought his entire family over for the games, only to sit on the bench the whole time.

well, Panthers get their own bad call and dagger it. could have called a legit trip on Bjugstad a minute earlier in the corner anyway though. Panthers deserved a break. Brad Meier is such a pud.

fun game regardless.

Chara looks like he aged 10 years this offseason. Ugly.
He definitely had a couple of clunker shifts out there tonight. For a while it looked like Krug was the only one who wasn't bothered by the Sharks' fast pace (speed!).

I don't know if Griffith can hang on the top line or whether Gagne stays on the fourth line all season. But this was easily the Bruins' best game so far this season.

How terrible is this goalie interference call on Nick Bjugstad? (Video)

The difference between this play and the one that took a Pavel Datsyuk goal off the board for the Red Wings at the Montreal Canadiens? The rules provided Carey Price some cover when he initiated contact with Justin Abdelkader, who had placed himself near the Montreal goalie. But this Bjugstad play only happens because Berra attempts to play the puck.

One’s a bad rule with too much gray area. The other’s just a terrible call.

Embarrassing officiating, shame on them

Rangers with a nice comeback road win last night. Team is rounding out nicely considering they are without a few key pieces in Stepan and DBoyle.

Vigneault is doing a real good job (imo) moving around players/lines. St Louis was not working out at center at all, so they moved up Hayes a much bigger body. I was skeptical, and still am quite a bit, as Nash probably needs a better playmaker at center than Hayes has shown to be, but that line has played well, and the smaller line MSL is on now with Zucc and Hagelin gives other team fits.

Also, moved Moore off the fourth line to give him more pt, Moore, Stepniak and Brassard really playing well.

They brought up this Mueller kid to help the pp, and pays off just about immediately.

Hunwick has been very serviceable as a journeman defenseman - much better than #4 (forget his name off the top of my head, but hope he never plays again ffs).

Team is not near as good as last year right now, but they should be a competitive team all year long.

####### just off the top of my head, but del zotto wore #4 too and he was terrible - think the last #4 I can recall that was any good at defense was Greschner

Last Cup win for the Cryers scum was 1975, sorry you have comprehension issues
You are dumber than I thought! What part of the 1975 in my post did you fail to comprehend?! You're gold, Ruff!
You're a moron just like the rest of the Cryer faithful, enjoy your garbage team that hasn't done a GD thing since 1975... :bye:

Finally getting to check off one of the things on my to do list and that's going to a Habs game in Montreal against the Caps.

31st of January,1 pm start.

So stoked about this, have seats in the 114 section(friend of a friend has season tickets).

Any tips you guys may have or places to visit while I'm in town?First time in Montreal and since we are making this a weekend trip I want to get in as much good stuff as I can.

TIA!
If you like beer a lot, the Dieu Du Ciel! brewpub has phenomenal stuff. It's not really close to anything though, so maybe not the best for a weekend trip.
