NHL Off-Season thread:Down goes Kane! (1 Viewer)

Phaneuf out "week to week", and Okposo out 6-8 weeks.

Also Bobrovsky out 4-6 weeks.

Tough all star weekend
Erik Johnson out 3-8 weeks for the Avs with a knee injury. Not good for them and a tough break after playing hard to get back into playoff race. Looks like they could be sellers if things go south like I would expect..

The rangers just dont seem to match up well vs the isles. They get these teams every year where it just doesnt work for them

Isles first goal was seeet though.

Awesome that NHL lets idiots like ridooshbag, i mean rinaldo target players then admit it and get slap on the wrist. If I'm a coach or owner, I send someone out to end his career. 8 games really, absolute joke.

Really poor effort by the Lightning tonight. They were never really in the game. They really lay some eggs against crappy teams.

The Blues traded Lapierre for Goc just now. I think it's a bad move. Hope I'm wrong. In the end, probably not a big deal either way, but I liked Maxim in the playoffs last year.

Hug your teddy bear extra tight after mommy tucks you in, you'll be ok.

Mrazek saved the 2 points tonight, Florida had 41 shots and pretty much every good opportunity in the 3rd period. Kid is stepping up big right now.

cheer up. after watching the highlights it appears the NHL refs chipped in and helped the Pens beat the jets. don't cry. it will be ok.

That's a pretty terrible trade for the Pens. I guess they're still upset their AHL goon call up got KTFO by a Frenchman.

Yeah, he's a pest, but you need those guys. He did his role well and he also played well for our fourth line. I just don't get it.

Marcel Goc, leads #Pens in shorthanded ice time among forwards, wins 54% of face offs. Comes with professional reputation #stlblues
So a character guy that wins faceoffs. Ok, I guess.

I'm sure you're mortified that your saintly franchise just traded for a guy who was suspended five games last season for boarding Dan Boyle

Speed kills. That and the Isles forecheck the Rangers into submission with all 4 lines.

3-0 vs the Rangers this year.

1st in the East.

Going Thursday vs the Bruins. Lets go Isles !!!

I had to sell my ticket last night due to Storm / no babysitter... I was stuck between spending another 120 and taking my kid or selling.. i also needed 2 together....

Either way, I'm one of the few ppl with not such a great record at the barn this year - I was at 3 of 4 losses.. so, all good.

Trying to go Thursday !!!!!

I was there...it was glorious!!!! lots of energy and loved chanting 'walk of shame' as every ranger fan left the building with 5 minutes left.

The highlight was the 'you can't beat us' chant going.

Yeah, Islanders really have the Rangers number this season. Rangers played better than in their last matchup but the result was the same.

Looking forward to Montreal tomorrow. Gotta get back on track.

Dirigée à Montréal pour une partie de hockey et de bons moments , je espère que mon équipe ne sera pas chier le lit .

Ducks... last six games.... all W 27 goals 10 against. mostly healthy for first time all year and blowing teams out and holding opponents to ridiculous low shot totals. Hampus Lindholm is awesome and a huge reason why the Ducks are in first.

Feels like they should maybe raise the goalie age limit for this squad. After Gibson, not a lot there.

Pens get crushed in Washington. Get beat down in a few fights. Put minor league players out on the PK for Ovie to smoke them. Give up a terrible 2 on 1 that leads to a goal. Do nothing to clear out traffic in front of the net.

Just bought a 10-game pack for the Islanders that gives me playoff rights.

Last year in the old barn and the team is hot, I had to do it.

Any isles fans want a pair of reg season tix, PM me.

Watching McDavid live tonight for first time in a year or so :excited:
let me know how Nick Baptiste looks
Nick Baptiste (BUF 3rd rd)- lower upside than a lot of guys in this game, but seems like low floor as well, likely to be a good pro (just as depth forward, rather than top 6, IMO). Made good decisions all night long, scored, took faceoff late in game with 20 seconds left and down a goal.

Connor McDavid (2015 eligible) - so very good, great lower body strength, ridiculous speed, always engaged physically. Cheated for stretch pass/offense a lot, but Erie fell behind 4-1 early, so understandable. Scored a goal on a stretch pass coming off the bench, assisted on a short handed goal. Best OHL player in a long time, last guy I think was in his league was Stamkos (who I always found to be a bit more dominant in junior than Tavares)

Dylan Strome (2015 eligible) - great hands and vision, two really nice assists, pretty similar player to his brother.

Remi Elie (Stars 2nd rd) - Erie's best player tonight, all over the ice making things happen. Was good in Belleville but really benefitting from playing on more skilled team (he played with McDavid, Baptiste was with Strome).

...And these guys I see every week, but in case anyone's interested:

Eric Cornel (BUF 2nd rd) - has not been good this year, step back from last year, but he was really good tonight. Goal, assist, game's 2nd star.

Matt Spencer (2015 eligible) - his stock has fallen from possible 1st rounder to possible 2nd rounder and again he made bad decisions with and without the puck tonight, he's just going to keep falling. Cameron Lizotte is the Petes defenceman teams should be looking at, IMO.

Dominik Masin (TB 2nd round) - played a strong game, threw a huge hit, doesn't back down from anyone, nearly dropped the gloves early in the game, picked up an assist, lots of PP time.

Petes best player was Greg Betzold who was undrafted but has gone to Blues camp the past two seasons. He had the game winning goal, an assist and was all over the ice making things happen all night long.
