Did you say Niagara Falls? The fam is always looking for day trip spots to go check out. And sometimes we'll make it a longer trip where we spend the night. We thought about going to Niagara. Like driving up Friday night, spend the day there on Saturday and maybe either drive home that night or Sunday morning. We don't mind "tourist trap" type things, but our main goal is to see the falls. Maybe get on the boat ride to the falls. But aside from that, is there anything that's a must-see or must do? Hiking trails, quaint shops...
And we all have passports so it could be anywhere around the falls. And the time frame would most likely be the middle of summer.
TIA
it does. another place i havent been to in about 20+yrsDoes African Lion Safari still exist? That place was the #### when I was like 7 years old.
Everyone loves...Marineland?There's a place I know in Ontario....
he's w the family. but if he hits me up, we'll go lolSurprised no one has mentioned one particular Niagara Falls attraction yet.
I took the family on a road trip to NF last October. I can’t help with your specific question on crossing, as we drove. We had no restrictions re: pandemic. We did a tour on the Canadian side with Skylon Tower, Boat Cruise, Behind the Falls and some other local sightseeing. It was great. My only advice is to decide how wet you want to (potentially) be on the boat and dress accordingly. We got up to the lower right front for the best views knowing it would be wet. The wind was the most surprising. Best part of the trip.Family and I are headed to Niagara Falls for the first time in early June for 3 days. Flying to Buffalo and crossing into Canada by Uber (at least that's the current plan), otherwise we plan to Uber to one of the bridges and walk across - any idea which way is better? So plans are to fly to Buffalo and get into Canada that day and stay for 2 days, then cross back into the US and stay overnight and fly home the next day. We are staying at Embassy Suites in Canada with a view of the falls. We plan to do a boat tour and "go behind the falls" on the Canada side, then do the "yellow jackets under the falls" thing on US side.
Niagara on the Lake seems interesting, hadn't heard about that until reading this thread - how far is that from Niagara Falls? Any issues/concerns after the pandemic? Anything else to consider?
Thanks!
I can't speak to the Uber-to-the-border plan but as far as I am aware, it's quite easy to walk across the border. I haven't done it post-Covid but it was always very easy pre-Covid.Family and I are headed to Niagara Falls for the first time in early June for 3 days. We took a tour bus type ride from the falls to NOTL 4-5 years ago. It made about 10 stops, which were about 5 minutes each, before getting to NOTL, and the last trip back to the falls was around 6, so if you missed it you were SOL. Niagara on the Lake is like 20-30 minutes from Niagara Falls/Clifton Hill. But I'm not sure how you'd get there from the Falls without a car. I suppose there's probably Ubers, but Niagara on the Lake is kinda out of the way and I suspect it may be difficult to get a consistent Uber on demand (though I don't know). I am a definite proponent of Niagara on the Lake though I haven't been there post-Covid.
Maid of the Mist and the Cave of the Winds were worth it to me.I am staying at Sheraton Niagara Falls next weekend trip (flying into Buffalo) . This seems to be walking distance to Niagara Falls - according to the hotel website, it's a 8 minute to the falls.
Do I need a car for that weekend if I am spending both days at Niagara Falls?
Also, what do you recommend to do there for the weekend at the Falls (on the US side)? Lots of things, but what would be the ones to do and should I make any reservations now (vs. just going )?
