Nicks out a few weeks (1 Viewer)

Manningham is a terrible route runner. Giants are obviously missing Steve Smith. I guess Manningham can now take Hick's spot since he is more of a vertical threat.
yea his routes are always short of the marker by a yard or 2..but he's good at catching the ball and someone's gotta go deep

Don't overlook Hagan. He's not going to put up the numbers that Hicks or Smith did, but he does know the offense. That is a big reason why Coughlin brought him back when Smith went down.

Everyone please let us know if you own Nicks, how the injury affects your team and if you've had any other injuries this year. Thanks. We need to know this stuff.
1. Yes; do own Nicks.2. Hopefully Braylon Edwards will be able to put up at least decent numbers for me from here on out. I'm gonna be 7-4 after this week and essentially have a playoff spot locked. I'll just half to see how things play out with Nicks' recovery as week 14 nears and consider a WW pickup if necessary.3. Surprisingly my squad has been pretty healthy all season. Struggled a little bit with injuries to my RB2 slot between Ryan Mathews and Jonathan Stewart.HTH

Thank God I made some moves to load up on WR's going forward. I'll be playing Lloyd along with D-Jax and Calvin Johnson from here on out.

I can't see him coming back and being above average after this. He's starting to get that injury prone thingy going too.

Normally you want to say upgrade this and that but with Nicks and Smith both out I hink the Giants are bowing out of the playoff race for now. Rough times ahead for Eli and crew.
JaxSkins@VikesEagles@Pack@SkinsThey might go 3-0 the next three weeks without Nicks. And Smith, as far as I know, is not done for the year.

Acute compartment syndrome is a medical emergency requiring immediate surgical treatment, known as a fasciotomy, to allow the pressure to return to normal.

Subacute compartment syndrome, while not quite as much of an emergency, usually requires urgent surgical treatment similar to acute compartment syndrome.

Chronic compartment syndrome in the lower leg can be treated conservatively or surgically. Conservative treatment includes rest, anti-inflammatories, elevation of the limb and manual decompression. In cases where symptoms persist, the condition should be treated by a surgical procedure, subcutaneous fasciotomy or open fasciotomy. Left untreated, chronic compartment syndrome can develop into the acute syndrome. A possible complication of surgical intervention for chronic compartment syndrome can be chronic venous insufficiency.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been shown to be a useful adjunctive therapy for crush injury, compartment syndrome, and other acute traumatic ischemias by improving wound healing and reducing repetitive surgery.

Looked pretty nasty on wiki. Sounds really bad too.

:towelwave:

I will hope that he will be ok.

Looks like it is time to start T.O. every week with White.

But now I need to worry about WR deepth for the playoffs.

Glad I picked up BMW a couple weeks ago, hope his injury is not serious. Nicks has been out performing AJ for me and now I'm going to have to rely on AJ to put up WR1 #'s with Mike Wallace as #2 instead of my flex. Hope Britt comes back soon.

Wait until they start playing 18 games. No one will be left on some teams.
Yep, fantasy football is really going to come down to who makes the best/key pickups on the waiver wire down the stretch and lucky enough to grab a stud who makes it through the entire season.Picking up guys like Peyton Hillis or Blount is just huge. Those are good RB1 and RB2 and you didn't even have to draft those guys....throw in Mike Vick as your QB and you have one of the better teams in your league, I'm sure of it.

Missing a guy for 2-3 weeks is kind of par for the course during a ff season.Personally I think this hurts Manningham's numbers over the next few weeks. However I don't think this will be a devasting blow. Rivers has been getting along fine with a revoling door at WR. Smith/Nicks/Manningham all have produced this year. I don't think they all can be more talented than most WRs, at some point Manning and the play calling get some credit for their success.

Someone on Twitter (I believe Football Outsiders' Bill Barnwell - though not sure) pointed out that Jason Taylor missed two weeks with this injury a few years back. It was also noted that he went on a pretty long streak without a sack after returning. All in all, pretty bad news. I do hope Nicks can return late in the year because he is having a Pro Bowl season and has been a fantasy stud.

Oucheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Rotoworld reports:

Giants WR Steve Smith (pectoral) said Monday that he does not anticipate being a full-time player when he returns to game action.

"I’ll definitely be limited for the rest of this season, I’m sure," he said. It sounds like Smith's injury -- initially reported as a strain -- was more serious than the team let on. He's going to end up missing at least four games, and the Giants apparently plan to play Smith cautiously down the stretch. He's no longer looking like a surefire fantasy starter in Weeks 14-16.

Looks Like Manningham is gonna be the WR to own the rest of the season.

You are now living my life: Mike Williams - WR - Seahawks Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Mike Williams' (foot) status going forward will depend on "how he responds" to treatment. The Seahawks don't seem to know exactly what's wrong. "He did something very unusual to his foot," said Carroll. "It might not be as serious as we originally thought, but we're going to have to wait and see how he responds." Carroll revealed that Williams "felt something pop," which is never a good sign. Fantasy owners should be making other plans for Week 12.Nov. 22 - 6:08 p.m. ET Source: Seattle Times

I see what you're saying, but the Giants have an easy pass schedule down the stretch and Manningham is really the only one there along with Boss who will take advantage of it. I think Manningham is going to be huge the next few weeks.....wish I owned him.

LOcal news is its 3 weeks minimum but probally longer. They also mentioend that Steve Smith will be limited the rest of the year by his injury. My Giants are falling apart.

Will Hagan or Duke Calhoun be serviceable the next few weeks or is Manningham the only guy to own in that passing attack for the time being?
