Fellow Cruz owner not liking the news. I love the attention Nicks has to get, on the other side. I love the luxary of being able to put Cruz in the slot more often. He will get more targets, but the looks won't be as ideal, in my opinion. As a Cruz/Bennett owner this should bump their value.![]()
Last year week 9 Nicks was out and Cruz went for 6rec, 96 yards. He'll be fine. He is the Blaxican Welker.Fellow Cruz owner not liking the news. Gotta agree. If it bumps Cruz, gotta be very small.Fellow Cruz owner not liking the news. I love the attention Nicks has to get, on the other side. The Panthers Defense is more than capable. I think Nicks out hurts Brown and Wilson more than it hurts Cruz' already low ceiling for this week.Bump Bennett though imo.are the panthers even capable of shutting down cruz? they are bad against the run, is that enough to keep cruz safe or no?
Keep us updated!Oh god.NicksBradshawFJaxMaclinIf Maclin sits im rolling with the world beaters, Stevie, Cobb and Lance Moore.
Agreed, but in all fairness the leagues job is to make the owners money. It's a business before it is a sport now days.Thursday night games really hurt NFL players and teams. This league doesn't care about anything but TV $$.

You got it. Short week, Lots of guys out. Car may have figured out that they need to run to win. Benching Gomer now for sure.Keep us updated!Oh god.NicksBradshawFJaxMaclinIf Maclin sits im rolling with the world beaters, Stevie, Cobb and Lance Moore.
I love the guy and wouldn't be suprised by another monster game this week. I just don't think Nicks being out is a bump, but the opposite. I'll still be starting him expecting top 10 WR numbers.Last year week 9 Nicks was out and Cruz went for 6rec, 96 yards. He'll be fine. He is the Blaxican Welker.
They have a good secondary and an ok rush. They have one(1) receiver to cover.Doesnt add up.Low ceiling how?The Panthers Defense is more than capable. Eli also has one(1) receiver to throw too. Target a guy enough and he'll catch it. Many of the best fantasy WR situations have been when there is only one guy targeted a TON of times. They have a good secondary and an ok rush. And almost all of the terrible performances have come from double coverages.Eli also has one(1) receiver to throw too. Target a guy enough and he'll catch it. Speaking of huge bumps...nice avatar.Huge bump for Martellus Bennett?
None of us are going anywhere so we obviously don't care all that much if the product is hurt. The product is hurt though when players are injured or teams are not as prepared.Agreed, but in all fairness the leagues job is to make the owners money. Very capable. The Panthers are VERY good against wide receivers, even going back to last season. Chris Gamble is an underrated shutdown corner, and with Nicks not stealing any attention, Cruz may be in for a rough game. I think he'll still get good numbers overall because Eli will force the ball to him. The best receiver on the Saints (Colston) only managed 49 yards last week, in a game where they were trailing.Bennett is the play, and I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up with 100 yards and two touchdowns. The Panthers, regardless of the opponent, have been good against receivers this season and last year, but tight ends are their weakness. I would be concerned about any receiver on the Giants, along with Eli.are the panthers even capable of shutting down cruz? they are bad against the run, is that enough to keep cruz safe or no?

they do get a 10 game break afterwards though, which gives them an advantage against their next opponent.it looks like they made an effort to schedule thursday games between teams that are close to each other. most games are divisionalThursday night games really hurt NFL players and teams. I suspect he reinjured or had a setback, last week a player stepped right on his foot.I think the bigger question is why?! Did he re-injure his foot when he went off for 199 yards last week? Did one of the Bucs lunge at him on the last play? How is his foot so bad that he's declared OUT the day before a game when he just played 3 days ago? Might this be a continuing issue for the season?
Well ####, I'm glad Bradhsaw's not playing this week then - I need him to cover T. As a Nicks owner (who has a solid backup and is a little worried about the Panthers matchup), I'm happy they are sitting him. My guess is that it is taking him a while to recover after each game, and the down-time just wasn't enough to get him back on track. Hopefully this will help him get back on track. I'm still worried though...I think the bigger question is why?! Did he re-injure his foot when he went off for 199 yards last week? Did one of the Bucs lunge at him on the last play? I saw the play where he came limping off and almost automatically questioned whether or not he was going to be available this Thursday. I suspect he'll be fine next week, but the short week was the worst possible scenario for Nicks owners. To be completely honest though, I'm quite relieved he's not playing. Although I'm going to have rely on one of two sub-par options this week, at least they are healthy, playing on Sunday and/or have great match-ups. Nicks could have easily underperformed to the tune of 4/40 again this week if he had played.I think the bigger question is why?! Did he re-injure his foot when he went off for 199 yards last week? Yes, as a Nicks owner I'm very worried myself. Still have Calvin and D Thomas, but I might have to roll Crabtree as my #3....As a Nicks owner (who has a solid backup and is a little worried about the Panthers matchup), I'm happy they are sitting him. True enough, but the actual game being played on Thursday suffers as players do not have enough time to recover from otherwise minor injuries from the previous week. Then you have less practice time for everybody (and more guys sitting from sunday soreness), so teams are not as prepared for each other. It may make for some sloppy games. I'm not sure if that favors O or D or just leads to poor play all around with a chance of more injury or making injuries worse.they do get a 10 game break afterwards though, which gives them an advantage against their next opponent.it looks like they made an effort to schedule thursday games between teams that are close to each other. most games are divisionalThursday night games really hurt NFL players and teams. Very true. Although do players get a cut of what the NFL pays itself to air games on their own NFL Network? (does the NFL in fact pay itself? Ad revenue go into the NFL pockets alone or is it part of the revenue counted in the cap?)Tv $ isn't hurting players on paydayThursday night games really hurt NFL players and teams. This. His foot was landed on in the Tampa game but it sounds like he played through it. Playing in a short week could do more harm than good. Nicks may not be 100% all season but even a 75% Nicks can still be a stud.As a Nicks owner (who has a solid backup and is a little worried about the Panthers matchup), I'm happy they are sitting him. He aggravated the injury and still finished out the game last week. If it were re-fractured, I'm betting we would have heard about it by now.if there has been in face a "setback" wouldn't that imply a re-fracture? We don't know yet so don't want to sound the alarm.
The same thing happened to Jennings last week. Unfortunately, these Thursday night games are going to probably cause us to see this a lot.We didn't see it quite as badly in the past, because it was later in the season and a player/team was willing to push a little more bceause they are "must-win" games at that point. Teams are not willing to risk their top players in a week 2-3 game, potentially costing them more games or worse. As a Nicks owner (who has a solid backup and is a little worried about the Panthers matchup), I'm happy they are sitting him. Might this be a continuing issue for the season? That would be my guess too with the quick turnaround he just hasn't had time to recover properly.
