If you need to ask for a technicality if it was a no-hitter, it wasn't a no-hitter. IMO.

Very, very poor call by the official scorer. Unfortunate for CC and the Brewers. But you can't go back and change it. Pitching in the 8th or 9th inning with one hit (albeit a questionable one) is much less pressure than pitching knowing you have no-no on the line.

I can see that play being called a hit some days, and an error other days. Wasn't clear either way.

I understand you are slightly biased, but more often than not, that is ruled a hit. I believe my knowledge of baseball to be slightly higher than yours as well.

Exactly. Flash, like it or not, I have seen plays similar to that be called hits before IN THE BIG LEAGUES, Mr. Condescending.

In all honesty, I think it should have been ruled an error at first then gone back and changed to a hit when the next hit was given up. You can't give the first hit of a game to something like that because of this very reason.

Gun to my head, I would call it an error but I can see it both ways.

I think I heard on espn that 10 official score keepers were polled and 8 out of 10 said they thought it was a hit. It was a bang bang play and most people thought it was a hit. And most times it is ruled a hit, this is only being scrutnized because of the unusual circumstances.I'm not gonna shed any tears for CC, if he made an error he doesn't really deserve a no hitter anyway(IMO)

This is one of those things that people that hate baseball must think fans of the sport are so stupid. We want a guy who made an error to be credited with a no-hitter because he made an error. I fail to come up with an analogy using another sport of something similar(prob because it doesn't exist)

I doubt that. I really doubt that.Bias or no bias, it was an error. CC had to go 3 steps off the mound. Easy, routine play.

Now if he had to run to the baseline and pick it up, that's a different story.

I don't really care about the no-no now anyway, it would be tarnished now.Not a homer call here at all. It would have been an error by any pitcher. He clearly would have had him out if he fielded it properly. The runner was only halfway to first when he touched it.Have you even seen it? I doubt it......lolLike I said, if he had to run more than 3 steps, then I would have been ok with the call.If this had been your Rays you would be crying a river.
