My first BB league. I won the football league so I got invited to this one. Head to head 12 team Yahoo league. I practically don't follow baseball and didn't know any of the players, so I let the Autodraft do its thing without touching the rankings. I actually got a pretty decent lineup by my reckoning.
C - Saltalamacchia (yes I may need a backup)
1B - Ortiz
2B - Kinsler
SS - Cabrera
3B - Wright
OF - Berkman, H Matsui, M Ramirez
Util - Thome
Bn - Burrell, Longoria, J Bruce, Theriot
P - Hamels, Smoltz, J Shields, Guthrie, Greinke, Maine, Buchholz, CJ Wilson
I assume Bruce is going to triple A so I'm going to dump him for another OF (with speed) or a catcher depending on what happens to Salty. Not dumping Salty or Longoria.
BUT - I got seven starting pitchers (two RP eligible). The only guy even close to a closer I got is CJ Wilson.
So here's the choice - do I wait on an upstart closer who I can pick off the WW when one shows up, and just count on losing the saves battle every week while possibly having an edge in the other categories? OR, do I try to trade my Buchholz or Maine over to the owner who's got FOUR true closers on his roster?
Appreciate any advice, thanks.
