this is becoming a chicken-egg argument......which came first, the mysterious 'tuck-rule fumble' or New England's THREE rings?? it had to be asked.....

Maybe, but why? If the Patriot fans vs Raider fans tuck rule beef can be quarantined to this thread, I'm all for it.
The thing is... Sheriff66 isn't even a Raiders fan. He's just an unabashed pot-stirrer.Talk about beating a dead horse.

Not for the tuck rule though... regardless, that call was the biggest load of dung I've seen in the NFL. But it was a year when being 'Patriotic' was really being promoted, and it was ironically fitting, that the 'Patriots', far from the best team in the NFL, won the biggest game in the NFL.

Funny thread. Who cares about the moral high ground in football? And the tuck rule thing is over nearly half a decade now - let it go.

I'll derail it more now...

The Pats right now remind me of the 2004 Lakers. They just came off a conference final that they lost (after being very competitive) to the eventual champions. So they went out and picked up high profile veteran free agents to get back to the winner's circle, as their main player (Shaq) was nearing (or at) the end of his dominance. It worked during the regular season and it seemed like they'd cakewalk to another championship. Then they ran into a younger, deeper and more talented Pistons team who spanked them and sent the franchise into a tail spin they have yet to recover from.

I'll let you draw the remaining parallels vis a vi the Pats and the NFL......

 and/or

And five years later, you're bringing it up in threads (in the Shark Pool and the FFA) that have nothing to do with that game. You're simply bringing it up to rile up Patriots fans. If you need attention that badly, go buy a dog.

Exactly my point, any football fan that watched the game that didn't have Red, White and Blue glasses on, and has ever watched a game of football knew it was a fumble...but this dumb rule screwed the Raiders.

I know, I'm the only one that thinks the call was :bs:  I'm not stalking you guy, you are stalking me..... ;)

Why did you avoid my question Kid Fisto ?
Your telling me if Gannon was the QB and Law was the DB you wouldn't have screamed from the rafters of Gillette ????? PAAAAAAALease...
I'll hang up and listen....
I've seen plenty of bad calls go against the Patriots/Red Sox/Bruins/Celtics. But I'm not bringing them up in threads that have nothing to do with said bad calls.I've said all I'm going to on this subject. Good call? Bad call? Who cares. Start a new thread on the topic if you'd like. Bringing it up in threads that have nothing to do with that game just makes you seem bitter and instigative.

If it cost the Patriots/Red Sox/Bruins/Celtics a chance at the Championship, you would have called :excited: for a liftime... :excited: I have a right to discuss the play, if it bothers you so much, go away, nobody is forcing you to come in here and :excited:

Woodson forces the "fumble
You got that right. Has to be one of the worst calls in history, for any sport.

Edited to say, that call goes as a fumble 999 times out of a 1000, and everyone knows it. They can hide behind the tuck rule all they want, but in reality that call goes against the Patriots almost every time. I believe Al Davis when he said they didn't want the Raiders to win because of him.
So you think the ref misses the head shot by Woodson 999 out of 1000 times? Or are you just completely dismissing the fact that the illegal hit might have caused the "fumble"?
I just watched that 3 more times and I didn't see an illegal hit by Woodson. I believe if you Pat fans say it enough you will actually believe it.
Kid Fisto, why aren't you bothering Johnny U ? He is saying the same thing I am, why can't I have an opinion that is not the same as yours ?
