I would schedule 3 or 4 people for the same time. Since its free they can't complain, and you don't have to worry about no-shows unless the weather is real nice and 4 people don't come.

Huh? No, I interpret him saying that it the caller was definitely a ##### and you took the low road by being a ##### back and not just simply cancelling your appointment and asking them to never call again. I don't see a single incorrect assumption or that he's saying you were solely in the wrong.
I did not write up a transcript of the conversation (more of a monologue interrupted by my ignored attempts to decline politely), so indeed you do see assumptions.. and I am telling you they are incorrect.
sorry if so- based on what I read: you signed up for a free session and then this jaggoff called trying to sell you more... which you didn't like, so you stood him on the free session. If so- I think that's a crappy thing to do, regardless of how jerky the gym salesperson was. If I missed something, let me know.
He ignored my attempts to decline. He wasn't interested in anything I had to say (indeed I was unable to finish anything I tried to say).
By the end of the call he said signed me up for 3 months of his class without my consent, specifically against my consent. By the end of the call I understood perfectly who i was dealing with and had long since parted with any of these normal concerns about being courteous or whether I was on a high road. I checked out.
So as you so perfectly said above - I just didn't show, screw that guy.
Apparently I have not watched enough of that show. Funny stuff.
People not showing sucks. I hate all of them. I don't think I have at any point in my life no call/no showed to something. Not even when cell phones were rare.
People just suck. It's not changing, and can only get worse from here on out. Fact of life moving forward.
That said, giving away free promotions seems like a breeding ground for this kind of thing. There HAS to be a better way to go about attracting clients.

You said the lady did it 3 times? After the 2nd, I wouldn't have offered her a free session the third time. She's already cost you two sessions by no-showing.
