No way you can't call the McNabb trade a total disaster (1 Viewer)

Typical Skins fans.
McNabb's been running for his life for most of 8 games this season. The Redskin o-line stinks. Jason Campbell, much as I admired the guy, would have been sacked 40 times by now behind that line with the "let the deep routes develop" play calls.
Which makes the decision to switch to Rex even more crazy. At least McNabb can extend the play or scramble. Not sure what Shanny was thinking.
The worst part is now that Grossman came in, fumbled, and gave up a TD immediately, Shanahan will defend his terrible decision for the next 2 weeks.

well alot of people passed on djax because the guy was 160lbs wet..holding buckets of bricks...that were wet too. reskins problem is well most of the team sucks ### outside of cooley and moss and its not like moss is an all pro
That's just a dumb post.

Disaster for which team?
At this point it can only be for the Redskins. As sensitive as McNabb is there is no chance he stays there beyond this season. His eyes are set on Minnesota or even Arizona IMO. They gave up a high pick for an overpaid and overrated QB for just a season. Now I'm just curious where all the "you don't trade into your division" guys went. I'd be interested to hear their thoughts now.

Redskins will meet with JaMarcus Russell

Posted by Mike Florio on November 2, 2010 11:18 AM ET

The Shanahan-McNabb feud has gone to a new level.

Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston reports that JaMarcus Russell, the first overall pick in the 2007 draft, will meet with the Redskins.

The move comes during the Redskins' bye week, two days after starting quarterback Donovan McNabb was yanked during crunch time of a loss to the lowly Lions.

I still think it was a dumb idea. Washington is 4-4; the Eagles are 4-3. The division or wildcard could depend on a head-to-head game, and the Eagles already lost to the Redskins once. For some reason, Shanahan doesn't like McNabb. Too bad, because McNabb makes that team better imo. The Eagles don't seem to be world-beaters without McNabb. They're over .500 but that's about it. Looking at Carolina and Arizona, it's clear that quarterbacks are at a premium. I don't see why you'd give your division rival one that you know can win games. Trading McNabb in the divison makes a division rival better. I don't see why you'd do that. Maybe McNabb isn't putting forth the effort because he doesn't see this as his final stop and this is just a one-year break before signing his last contract elsewhere. Maybe there's been a conflict with Shanahan brewing for months. If so, that's unprofessional of him to not give his best effort. But there must be a lot going on behind the scenes for Shanahan and McNabb to decide it's not working, and it's not all one-sided.In that respect, the Eagles got lucky imo. If it had been a good fit, they could have kept the Eagles out of the playoffs (where McNabb took them frequently). As it is they already took a game from Philadelphia.

This thread title looks more correct each week. So far, the Eagles have gotten a 2nd & 4th and the Redskins have given McNabb 3.5 mil in apology money for calling him fat and lazy and still no long term commitment to him.

You forgot stupid and gimpy. He couldn't run the two minute offense because he was too stupid, and then he couldn't run the two minute offense because he was fat and lazy, and then he couldn't run the two minute offense because he was gimpy.Mike Shanahan has not had a good two weeks.

Mediocrity (won't call disaster because I think Philly would still possibly be a playoff team with McNabb for this year) would have been if they kept McNabb as the starter in Philly.

Reid's going to get quite a few Coach of the Year votes for inserting one of the top MVP's candidates over the guy they've groomed for years as QB of the future (and handed a substantial payday for 2010 to in Kolb)

They got a 2nd and 4th for a one & done QB in Washington. Not a bad return at all. (And they still have 2 better QB's on their roster at this point that are better than McNabb)

They aren't going to lack suitors for Kolb this offseason if they look to deal him & retain Vick. Whether they decide to deal Kolb (cheap backup QB for 2011) is another story.

The QB that caused them to trade McNabb has already be benched in favor of a QB that was on their team the whole time. I don't understand why more folks don't see it this way. The McNabb trade can already be called a disaster. Their plan did not work. We all saw that Kolb was not going to cut it. The Eagles just seemingly got lucky.
So now the Eagles are left licking their wounds with an MVP-caliber QB, a win or two from the playoffs, a promising young safety (thanks Washington!), and another draft pick yet to come. The Redskins have a divided locker room, and aging past-his-prime vet, and Rex Grossman as their starting QB.Yup, disaster written all over it.A lot of people, including some Eagles fans, ripped Reid for making this trade. He knew better then anyone what McNabb had left in the tank.

McNabb trade still a huge success for the 4-4 Redskins. Now they just need to trade for an O-Line.(4 wins last season, 4 this season and only half way through)Predicting that they beat the Eagles AGAIN in a couple weeks.
Got to 5 wins and a benched QB! Not to mention a 59-28 shellacking. HUGE success!

Some good stuff here:

Redskins a Co-Favorite in the NFC East - John Clayton, ESPN

"With the play-calling of Mike Shanahan and the experience and arm of McNabb, the Redskins should easily reach 22 points and game and most likely 24. In addition to McNabb, Washington has added halfbacks Larry Johnson and Willie Parker and offensive lineman Artis Hicks this offseason."

Check the link...its worth it.

Sadly for Redskin fans, this is all true.
Think hiring Shanny was the disaster lol
Shanahan looks like the new Josh McDaniels.

Trading your entire draft for a drug addicted socially awkward lumbering "running" back is a total disaster.

McNabb was a good try that didn't work out.
