I have always liked Grant but he is a very small player. I do think it takes extra accuracy to find him if a defender is near. He is blazing fast though and as you point out his efficiency numbers are up so far this season compared to his career numbers.

Isaiah Ford has played more snaps and targets than Grant has so far this season but Grant did play more snaps than Ford in most recent game and he has done more with his targets than Ford has.

Can you tell us some more about these two WR and why you think Grant is the better option?

Is there anything to see with DeAndre Washington in MIA, now that he's off the exempt list? He had a couple really nice games for OAK last season when Jacobs went down. Looks to do really well catching out of the backfield. I'm wondering if he may be the RB to own in MIA right now, or is there nothing to see here?

Yeah I have learned a handful of things today that I didn't know before.

Reading your thoughts in the other thread you sound more excited about Callaway than you do Grant who you think will see limited volume.

What happened with his combine? Was supposed to run like a 4.32, but ran a 4.6-4.7 both times.

All I know is Gaskin is not a starting running back in the league. And, the the Dolphins a number of draft picks next year to get one so Ahmed might not be the answer either.

He's honestly just not that fast, both based upon his highlights and times. He was expected to run better than a 4.65 or whatever he ran, but he wasn't supposed to be that much better. Maybe more like a 4.5, IIRC.

I think the Dudes intent for this thread is to identify players who may be useful for the rest of the season, not so much the short term opportunity.

Here is my thinking or potential Box on some weeks....mind you Tua had 350/3TD, Parker and Gesicki can't get all of it plus as the better receivers they are likely to draw coverage and we've already seen Tua has no issue checking off and going to his 2nd and 3rd Read if need be.

Parker's targets fluctuate if you look them up on a game by game basis, last week was 7 so expect like 4 this week. Jokes aside, he is around 8 targets a week. I think another WR can easily slide into 5-7 targets a week and yet a 3rd or slot WR also grabbing around 4-5 and that would be around 20 targets to the WR and I think that volume could increase some weeks. Remember, Miami currently has a pretty pedestrian run game so Tua is going to have to air it out a lot for now.

Callaway 4-50/TD

Grant 3/40

And I can mix n match this many different ways, Parker can disappear some weeks or for whatever reason he seems to draw DPI often and yeah it's a great thing as a Phinsfan but lousy for FF. Maybe that week it's Grant 3/60/TD, Callaway 5/70 and Parker has his once a month dud for like 3/36. 

Parker will be the lead, there's no doubt in my mind but someone from the other group is going to be thrust into a bigger role than most are thinking abut right now. Schedule is too soft for Miami not to feast the next few weeks. 

In most of my leagues I don't honestly think anyone will grab Callaway tonight so you can likely grab other needs and think about it before the weekend. Redraft leagues I'm talking about.

As we all know, combine metrics may not be emblematic of a player’s ability because they’re point in time estimates.

With Ahmed, he sure did seem faster than Gaskin, although perhaps not as fast as Breida. Whether Ahmed gets more touches remains to be seen, because Breida may be back this week, Gaskin in a few weeks, and Washington may be activated as well.

I think the only certainty with the Dolphins backfield going forward is that Howard will only be a big part of it if everyone else is injured and they need a guy to punch it in from the one.

You’re saying some interesting things here but I am confused because you said this elsewhere:

Preston Williams is out for at least the next 3 weeks to a month and Ford was traded, but we have a solid name that many of us Phins have been high on for some time, and that's Jakeem Grant. Allow me to take you for a quick spin so you know what you're getting into and I'm going to point something out you should know. 

Grant is about at his career total for receptions in a season already(8 games) but here's the key, he's doing that on even less targets. His Catch % is 75% and I would assume the coaches know that and more importantly Tua is going to catch on real quick that his(Tua's) skill set matches up well with Grant. 

He tied for his most targets to date this year, 5 and that was with Williams leaving in the 1st half, I expect that number to increase some over the coming weeks, maybe a solid 6-8 targets a week. 

Now his production is not that much to write home about just yet but I feel that by the time that part hits the equation that it will be too late and the cat's out of the bag. I would grab him as last guy on the bench and see what happens with all these cream puffs the Phins have over the next month. Very soft schedule and they don't run the ball very well right now.

I don't disagree, think with Tua that both will hit the box score. Exactly how that plays out is a mystery. Grant has been in the Miami organization for 5 years now so he's had plenty of time to fight his way to the top, thing is he was never really drafted as more than a PR/KR guy IMO but later on we figured out he's also a decent WR. 

Callaway's resume reads of potential but not quite maximizing it or never being able to really MAX out so you have to weigh those things. 

And I think Parker can be a Top 12 WR the rest of the way especially over the next 4 weeks, h's likely to have a couple of his bigger games. Should be a lot of offense to go around. This is all just end of bench guys, I doubt anyone we mention will be used a lot. 

Now I hate to bring it up but what if Parker were to miss some time? He isn't exactly the model of durability over his career. Now what happens with Tua still pushing the tempo of the offense?

Miami doesn't have that much past their starters right now.
