She could be having sex midcourt at halftime of every Duke game in the tournament...

still wont root for Duke.

We have a pr0n star name for this girl? I've read like 3 articles already, and they don't make mention of it.

It's...for science.

Interesting story, had not heard of it.

Tell you what I think:

She's not a "star", like say a Jenna Jameson or any of the multiple names that are known via the net and DVD's and cable. But she may be now.

I think it's wrong what they did. The guy at the Duke frat who outed her was wrong for doing that, IMO. The school paper was wrong for doing it, so was the site that did it. They were all wrong. She did run the risk by appearing in movies in the first place, but obviously this guy and others took the extra step of humiliating her, it's just plain wrong.

Maybe she made some bad choices, but she doesn't deserve this.

her rebuttal is below. to me, it reads exactly what I would expect from her generation. no judgements in that...it's just...what I would expect.

I did, and I thought it was well written so I was just curious what you mean it's what you expect for her generation.

Not saying it's right or wrong. She's done nothing illegal.

I feel like, when you choose to engage in working in the sex industry, this is part of the package (no pun intended). You're being paid to participate in sex acts for the purpose that it can be marketed to adults that want to watch it. By accepting the money, you're also accepting that in this digital age, there is an inherent potential for your non-pornography life to be linked to your pornography life. So, really, I just feel like it's the price you pay to play and get the financial benefits of being paid to participate in pornographic films.

Whatever comes of it in terms of public perception, right or wrong, she has to basically accept it, just as she did the money for her performances. Good on her for getting in front of the story as it hits the news, but, she can only really do so much here. Sure, frat dude didn't need to embarrass her at a party publicly. But really, quietly or publicly disclosed to others, it's a matter of time before someone stumbles upon a video, makes the link, and word of it spreads like wildfire.

Just my :2cents:

Porn star whatever. The key here is the chicks into the rough stuff.

Could be some fun "role play" putting a dukie in her place.

Great! Glad to hear that you read it. Hopefully that will help you digest the drivel I am about to present you.

My thoughts are that I admire the fearlessness of young people like her. I genuinely wish I had the self-confidence that she has when I was in my early twenties.

I can tell that she doesn't give one fig for what others think of her. She is very proud of herself, and in a really good place for someone who wants to be a porn star, which she obviously does.

She knows what she likes, and isn't afraid of who she is. She lives in the now, as they say, and does what she wants. She is free and happy, and will stand up for what she believes in.

My other thought is that it makes me sad how little she knows of how the world right now works, and how pointless she is going to find her strong position to be outside of her current industry. In the non-porn world that old people control, nothing matters but what she's done. They won't care how confident she is. Everything she says after "I'm a porn star.." is irrelevant. She is a girl, which already makes getting respect harder than it would be if she were a boy, but put the "whore" brand on top of it, and she is all but written off. Her position on how it is patriarchy that creates negative stereotypes for women and makes them ashamed of their bodies is admirable, but this is not new information. So it does nothing to change the equation. So she doesn't even get kudos for being original.

She has likely done serious damage to her future potential in life outside of the adult entertainment industry. Based on what I read in her rebuttal, she doesn't seem aware, not does she particularly care about this possibility. In an industry were your marketability has a very limited shelf-life, she might be a rock star, but outside of this industry, this is going to make her life much harder.

In the job market, I've had kids come in where it seems like the conventional way of interacting with others means less to them than it used to. I don't want to use the word self-centered, because that's just my archaic interpretation, but many of the seem less humble and over-confident. In the end, I see these kids missing out on jobs because they scare older people with this overconfidence.

None of this is right, nor is it just. But it is what I have come to expect from this latest generation, and it concerns me. Which, of course, means that the wheel of time continues to roll and that I am now the one who gets to worry about the future while this young lady reminds me how out of touch with reality I am.

And now I am ready for my grilling.

Which is better - a really hot girl doing vanilla scenes or a mediocre girl doing really nasty scenes?
A LOTTA depends going on here. How hot? How nasty? What type of nasty? Like slapping and spitting or suckin feet... So many "tastes" it's hard to just flat out say hotter chick or nastier.

I will say this, in real life even a really hot chick begins to look the same / you get a little bored after a while.

I hate to use a movie to make my point, but off the top of my head the scene in Boogie Nights when Don Cheadle goes with his wife to the bank to get a loan to start his stereo business, and his request is denied because "...the bank doesn't associate with known pornographers" is basically the rest of this girl's life outside of making porn movies. Right or wrong, it's basically going to be her life moving forward.

Do you know her personally? All that anyone knows about her in this thread is that she goes to Duke, and she chooses to get paid to do porn. Hard to say what she deserves or doesn't deserve, but most people who do porn should expect it to become knowledge to everyone they know at some point.
