Notice that Andre Johnson is quietly on his way... (1 Viewer)

Extrapolating his stats to a 16 game stretch, AJ is on his way to the following:

128 receptions (8 per game)

1520 yards (95 yards/game)

9 TDs

Some of you math wizzes may want to check my math on this, but any way you slice it, I think AJ has officially shed his underachiever status. No matter who you have on your roster, he is one of the few must starts.

He sure looked like a putz yesterday with all of the dropped passes - at least 5 of them...........1 was picked off that hit his damn forearms.

But I agree........with the progress that Carr is making, he's finally using his stud WR as he should be used.

Judas priest, I didn't know that he dropped a bunch. If the guy can eliminate mistakes, could he have a second half that far exceeds his first half?

Previous to that game he was catching close to 80% of the balls thrown at him. Far better than the next WR. 1 bad game and he still put up numbers. AJ is the best receiver in the game today and he doesn't even have an NFL caliber QB throwing to him.

Moulds is ahead now after AJ caught 9 of 18 and Moulds caught 3 of 3. Imagine the #'s if they had an NFL caliber QB.

I traded David Carr and Doug Gabriel for Matt Hasselbeck friday ,...MAN i'm still reeling over that. I'm a pretty fair Hasselbeck fan. Now i shouldn't have to worry about Brady so much when he comes back. Sage didn't look too bad,...i just can't believe that'd bench Carr for more then what they did,..but the game wasn't out of hand,..and they didn't go back,...i'm confuxer'd

So as a non-Andre Johnson owner I'm curious are the owners scared after how Carr got pulled? Do you think Sage will put up similar numbers to andre if this happens again?

:loco: Uh... how aobut 128 receptions and 1520 yards? I'd say that's better than your average pro-bowler, would you?
NO it's very average very ordinary and easily attainablequit jinxing him please :D

he's finally reaching what could be his potential. I underrated him, to be sure.

Johnson has always had a lot of hurdles to overcome because of the offense he plays on. Its hard to get downfield for big plays when your franchise is busy smashing every sacks allowed record in existence. I think he is easily in the Chad Johnson/D-Jax/Harrison tier if his offense is competent. I dont know that he is a top 3 WR when everyone is healthy, but top 5 seems quite comfortable.

I'm going to take your word here, as I haven't looked at the numbers. But 80%, or close to 80%, is not even close to sustainable. If this is the case, then you should expect a decline in his numbers as his catch rate regresses to the norm.

As an AJ owner, I hope Carr gets permanently benched. He sucks. Always has, always will. Sage is better. ANY QB is better.

Was he dropping passes thrown by Carr or by SR?

I'm not sure what you're basing that on. Having Kubiak as a coach is going to markedly increase Carr's abilitites. We're only seeing the beginning of it. In my opinion, having Kubiak around is somewhat analogous to Favre having Holmgren around. Granted, I'm not putting the Texans in the Bowl anytime soon, but Carr's abilities will go up.

Not possible. He has maxed out. You've seen his best. It consists of falling down and fumbling. Taking sacks when there are plays to be made, throwing dump offs when WR are running free in the secondary. Nothing has changed. Kubiak has squeezed all he can out of this lemon. It's time to grind it up and toss it in the garbage.

really? Holmgren? (Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Matt hasselback) I hear this a lot - how kubiak is a genius with QBs but I have never really paid much attention to his successes as a QB mentor - is this based on just what he did with Greise or is there more? I think he had given up his QB coach duties before Plummer came through with his best season... just curious...
