Now a good time to get Portis in Dynasty? (1 Viewer)

All crystal balls welcome.

I think he can probably be had for cheap right now. But his big workload in previous years seems to be taking its toll.

BUY or PASS?

BUY

Portis is a top claibure rb and surely a top 5 dynasty pick. I just landed him in my dynasty from a playoff team that Hade only LT-Portis/Betts-T.Henry/C.Brown.

The trade was:

I sent:

JJ/MBIII-M.Turner-ROMO

for

Portis/Betts-Cutler-Plummer.

Although i do like Turner and MBIII alot right now they dont get enuff carries for me.

Just dropped him in a keep one salary cap league were all free agents are bid on once a week. He was $38/$100 cap. I plan on bidding on him next week and keeping him for next year. If I can get him for $15 I'd be thrilled.

why would anyone move him in a dynasty now? his value will never be lower than it is now. he's 25, hang on to him. of course if there was a panicking Portis owner in my league, i'd gladly buy low.

I think if you can BUY, you should. The way I see it, next year they will have Campbell or another QB and with a year in Al Saunders scheme the offense should be better, combine that with a healthy and rested Portis and look out!

I just acquired him.

KJ & JJ for Portis and 2nd rd rookie pick.

I like the deal for me.

If you've got a team that's going to make the playoffs and has a good shot at a title, it makes perfect sense to move Portis for a player that can help you now.Although I wouldn't go as far as to trade him for Tiki. I'd want a guy with some hope for the future in return.

of course it always depends on who you can get back in return. Tiki? No. i'm not giving up on a 25 year old RB in a dynasty league unless i'm gonna get fair value back (another top young RB). then anything is possible.

If you have a top team this year, what about Portis for Tiki and Brandon Jacobs? Jacobs is going to be the #1 guy next year right? You get immediate help for this year and hopefully a future stud. Might be worth the gamble. I also have Gore and Jackson so my RB's are in decent shape.

If not Barber ...what about Portis for Alexander in a dynasty league? Alexander could be of great help to a top fantasy team, while a team near the bottom (likely, given Alexander's injury) gets younger for the next few years.

Just traded for Portis. Gave Tiki straight up, 1 for 1.
Traded with a playoff contender, eh?
Both teams are contenders, neither team is the best in the league. I have depth at RB, him not so much. I'll start S Jackson/A Green this year, and hope for a S Jackson/C Portis backfield next year. But anyway, I would generally recommend trading for Portis if you're looking to get younger - but not for a possible future star RB. :2cents:

Portis for Alexander in dynasty makes a lot of sense for Portis owners looking to make the playoffs and Alexander owners stuck looking toward next year.
