NY Giants Running game news (1 Viewer)

Any update? My options are already weak but get weaker if I don't take a 4 PM game option but they will lock any second now.

if you have anyone else decent, i would play them. as i posted in the earlier(formerly) pinned thread, i think there is too great a chance of gtd or 3 way rbbc. i think droughns is the lowest risk play of the three.eta - in the giants updates on the radio this morning (2 diff stations) they only talked about burress. there was not a word mentioned about uncertainty with any rb. this is what made me think the giants weren't talking and there would be no clarity til tonight.

I missed my better options at the 1 PM game however I went Selvin Young (over Kenton Keith) rather than wait for Stallworth as my last resort for Ward. A 3-47 from Selvin so far isn't looking too bad ... I just need something not a huge game anyway. I assume Henry isn't hurt it's just Selvin's turn to get some totes?

I understand your point, if only choice thats the way you have to go. But If not a big lead and Henry getting tired, I think the Bronco's should try to increase their passing game more. As for the topic reply I benched Ward from an 11AM today report he might not play, I can't affore to take that chance with a late nite game and no possible way I can replace him (Ward) that late.

Yep.. I'm even considering picking up Buckhalter instead of having to pick between Droughns/Ward

Considering im down by 34 and I have Burress and one of the three left , I need to make the big decision!

 
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Philadelphia Eagles halfback Brian Westbrook, offensive tackle William Thomas, cornerback Lito Sheppard and safety Brian Dawkins were all inactive for Sunday night's game against the New York Giants.

Westbrook, who led the NFC in rushing with 291 yards after last week and was the conference's player of the week after gaining a combined 221 rushing and receiving against Detroit, was sidelined with a pulled abdominal muscle. He did not practice this week.

Dawkins was inactive for the second straight week with a neck injury, while Sheppard was out for the second straight week with a knee injury. Thomas sprained a knee last week.

Giants halfback Derrick Ward and receiver Plaxico Burress, who were questionable with ankle injuries, were both in the starting lineup.

I think being down by 34 and having Burress + Ward/Droughns/Buckhalter I'm going to go with Droughns

I need to hit a homerun and get big points; if I go with Ward the most he'll do is probably 8-10 points on 100 yards while Droughns has the potential to not only get the yards if he starts but also get one maybe two TD's. Even if Droughns doesn't start he still might vulture a couple TD's.

As for Buckhalter, I think Hunt will cut into his carries making it a RBBC when McNabb isn't slinging the ball down field.

 
I guess it worked out OK for me ... I should comfortably win this week. Started out with Ward over Holt but didn't hear about the possibility of Ward being benched until Holt was locked out. At that point I went Selvin Young who managed a respectable 10 point day although Ward has more upside but I suppose more risk. Either way it worked out that I didn't put Holt back in.

 
Can't change my mind again now! :hijacked: I'm down by 10; I have Ocho Cinco tomorrow and my opponent has Brady. Go Droughns!

 
Sportsline says Ward is active and starting. I'm sure Droughns will vulture his goal line reps.... :hijacked:

:confused: Buckhalter? :hot:TD heavy leagues are tough for this reason. With 69 total yards in one half, Ward is playing very well. Yet, if he doesn't score a TD and droughns does, Droughns may have the better game.
 
Downgrade ESPN. To think I almost blew a 20 dollar transaction to pick up Droughns(luckily I didn't and my opponent did, double bonus, and yes I know you care).

Clayton has always been fairly dependable, but him and Mort are both having awful seasons, between the Eli out for a month story and the Patsgate is just begining stories, they offically get a shaker of salt with anything they report from here on out. Journalistic probabtion.

 
Thanks, I am sure many of us were put in the position from these false reports and put crap players in (Morency) beacuse we were in a bind. ESPN can go under for all I care. Maybe they should just stick to Poker.

 
wow. what a mess. hope everyone did okay. my replacement player got me two points more that ward, so it worked out. but didn't need the fire drill. :thumbup:

Blah to the fire drill. Will it be Ward? Is Jacobs healthy? Will Droughns get the short-yardage? I dumped Ward but kept Jacobs on IR and picked up Ron Dayne. Would have done better with Ward, but the fire drill is too much of a headache.
